You do understand that not everyone needs a discrete GPU, right? And that the X1 Carbons are built with magnesium and carbon fiber instead of aluminium and plastic?

Absolutely nobody is buying an X1 Carbon for gaming. That’s far from the only important factor of a PC, especially a business laptop.

My Lenovo work PC was 2900$ usd.
Thankfully I didn’t buy it.
Edit: seems I’ve upset some up and coming businesses that had the express intent of lying about a sale price to trick customers into buying their stuff. Sorry, but thems the brakes here in the US. Not sure if the computer in the post itself falls under the category, just adding a reference to OP that it is in fact against FTC regulations to have a deceptive “sale”.

Not saying its fair or what not. But it clearly says Business laptop. And business laptop usually do cost that money even the non-discounted money is kindof common in business laptops. Only recently Business laptop became a bit cheaper.
Never know why the Business laptop cost that much though. Since the only additional features are like some security and easier way of Managing Laptops plus Easier Maintenance Stuff. But i suppose Businesses Have Money and they probably bulk buying as well, in which case there might be more discounts.

These are work laptops. Companies don’t care as long as they are durable and small enough for their employees to carry and use.
These thinkpads are great and you can buy them for cheap when the company decides to upgrade.
