I assume one of the survivors built it.
None of the retuning weapons have been built by the same people as in ‘‘Aether.’’
eeeeeewwwww they’re adding the shit gun (could’ve been worse, could’ve been the winters howl) (only if you have to build it like Bo2 though)
There isn’t any lore on the new jet gun, since it’s a different timeline/universe where the dark Aether was banished it technically doesn’t even make sense that Eddie Richthofen has a wonderwaffe-dg2 in the liberty falls cinematic. Cause the original wonder weapons were made with element 115. Everything from Cold War on has been kinda a stretch story and lore wise. You could make an argument that wonder weapons now use aetherium. But the jet gun was specifically crafted by the victus crew in B02 Tranzit to do the EE in favor of maxis or Richthofens battle over the Dark Aethers power.
Kevin Drew who is on of the development team for reach said he just likes bringing back underpowered or less popular fan favorites and trying to make them good again. So far that’s the only reason the Jet Gun is in B06.
However, we don’t know everything about liberty falls yet, so they might add significance to it story wise
