Yeah, i know its an unpopular opinion, but hear me out. I've recently gone back and replayed all of BO4s easter eggs, and I can't deny that I absolutely love BOTD. Now, I played MOTD during its release on BO2, and it is still to this day, one of my all time favourite maps. Most people will compare these two, which is totally justifiable since BOTD, is a reimagined version of MOTD. But If you look at BOTD, as it's own map as if though MOTD had never existed, it has multiple redeeming qualities. The aesthetics are amazing, the Magmagat is perfect, and the easter egg is intriguing, long and noticeably harder than most other easter eggs out there, which I personally love. And of course the storytelling and lore that takes place on this map is absolutely brilliant.
All in all, I always have a great time hopping on BOTD.

Yep, once I started seeing BOTD as its own map i started enjoying it more and admired some of its features. Not as good as the OG but still a fun time if you can look past on comparing it to MOTD

Yes, I think in a world where MOTD didn’t exist BOTD would be considered a great map. It also doesn’t help that it’s in BO4 which has probably the least popular mechanics in the series.
I don’t mind a long and complicated EE but tedious steps like the bird step make it a lot less fun to actually complete.
I like the EE, but that last section with the midgame cutscene > Jail sequence > jailbreak > bossfight > midboss cutscene to switch Richtofen’s is incredible and not given enough praise. It set super high expectations in the story that I don’t think the rest of the Aether DLC maps lived up to imo
I like it a lot, but I still see it as a worse map than mob of the dead and don’t see them as that distinct. For me, mob goes in like high to mid A and blood goes in high B or low A. Not a fan of some of the decisions they made, cutting the bridge sucks when that was one of the most fun things to hang out on, and they way over nerfed the acid gat. Hell’s retriever having to be a choice over Wraith fire is also pretty lame. But like, at the end of the day it’s still kind of mob of the dead so it’s still definitely a really good map.
i agree its a good map i did not like the ee until the last sequence witht the bird freeing primis from the jail cells
