Times have really changed, the passion they had for old maps is just incomprehensible compared to todays tight corporate AAA environment.
3arch literally got flown out to Alcatraz island to get inspiration for the map… they would never put budget aside to create similar levels of enthusiasm these days, the game dev world is so very different from how it was.

I don’t ever see anyone talk about this, but afterlife from Mob and beast mode from Shadows of Evil will NEVER return to COD. It takes too much programming time anymore to create something like that. Really is sad to think about

Do I think bo3 was the best zombies game ever? Yes. But this atmosphere shit is getting old, most of the maps of cod zombies history had little to no atmosphere. Maybe a good couple audio clips but not much more. Plenty of maps had a bland color Pallet and I think having a city is totally fine to play in.
That being said, i think it’s impossible to tell whether you’ll like it or not without playing it, because it’s just so uniquely different than other maps we’ve played.

I think liberty falls could be spiced up and have the atmosphere more walking dead style or more occult vices as that seems where the story is going back to. Have some body bags, clues of project janus executing civilians to contain the outbreak, or simply just more gore.
I’m optimistic in hoping they didn’t show everywhere in the map since they turned off the Easter Egg. But I think we might have saw everything from NEXT.
