I never understand how people’s pcs get so dusty. Is it just the environment it’s in, have you kept it uncleaned for like a year or longer? I dust mine every few months, I’ve never seen it look like that.
Get some good vent filters for your case too, that goes along to prevent dust build-up. You will still need to dust, it just helps cut down on how often. A lot of cases straight up come with them but you can buy some after market ones if yours does not. Super cheap and saves a ton of time and effort down the line.

Lol. I’m the opposite. I have a PC that’s 15 years old. It’s still going strong. It’s so clean inside it looks like new. I’ve had to replace one part in the entire time I’ve owned it. I only open the case when I have to. I don’t even know how to clean a PC.

My room is cleaned weekly and my case monthly. It takes a few minutes. I have no idea how people let expensive equipment get this bad.
If you clean regularly, it is super easy to maintain. The worst is maybe cleaning the glass panels, and that’s just…cleaning glass. I vape (not exhaling directly at the PC or anything) so the glass builds up small amounts of VG residue over the course of a month.. Just wipes right off as long as you are proactive about it.
Keep the room clean and your PC should largely follow suit. If there’s not that much dust/hair for it to suck up then it will stay pretty clean.

I literally just cleaned my corsair 360mm radiator after 2 and a half years and I am a smoker. I have taken apart and deep cleaned everything including my GPU but I was always worried about the radiator because it’s front mounted and was a pain to screw in with all 3 fans at the same time. I finally took the time to do it, mine was worse. I had to wrap the pump and tubes in plastic, tape it off and then gave the radiator a shower followed by a dry cleaning. Then I did all of my case fans and my goodness, my fans are white again, I can see through my radiator fins again and my temps dropped 10-12 degrees across the board while gaming at least. I knew it was going to be gunked up but I didn’t realize how bad they can get just by smoking cigarettes near them so often. And my room is clean because im a clean freak so it was mostly discolored but that radiator was full of 2 1/2 years worth of dust and neglect.

I had someone ask me to fix their pc because it wasn’t turning on. I swear it was like an accordion of dust when I opened the side panel.

No. A PC should be so well built it can withstand the test of time and dust. So I will not sir, not now, not ever. If I want a faster PC I will pay for a faster part, not overclock it beyond its limits to where it can’t handle the heat from some dust build up so I can save a few hundred bucks. I also support a standardized PC that stays reasonably within its time, and won’t encourage paying an ass load of money for hardware that isn’t even being taken advantage of yet. So I say now – Stop upgrading and messing with parts, developers should develop software that can run perfectly well on a standard PC of the times. Developers need to master developing on what is already available and take full advantage of a PC that already runs well… Progress on hardware and tech needs to be slowed down, and what we have already is powerful enough to get what we need out of it.

Dumb question, Does more dust build up make ur PC louder because that’s what mine does and i’ve got a pretty good pc tbh
If your pc is looking like that. You really need to clean the room it is in more often, instead of waiting to clean the pc when it gets that bad.
Vacuum carpet, and move it from close to open windows, or keeping on the floor.
Here is one of my customers who claimed they couldn’t understand how leaving side cover off could make pc dirty, while next to a window.

Oh, that poor suffocating, overheating PC. It’s enough to induce a brain stroke just looking at this.
