This is going to be the norm with bigger budget games going forward and will only get worse. How’s the S going to run GTA6?

Do they optimize it 1 fps lower for that cinematic feel ?
Devs shouldn’t be expected to make games run on that garbage
Current consoles are becoming outdated people need to start understanding this. The Series S was outdated at launch and now PS5 and Series X are showing their age too being on 5 year old hardware.
They probably think 30 is fine, and dips to 25 too.
If low end PC’s can exist, so can a weaker console targeting a lower resolution and weaker graphics.
Introducing the Xbox One! It’s $500. You can’t play used games and if you live in a country with bad internet we have a product for you, the Xbox 360.
Introducing the Xbox Series X and S. This time we have a $250 variant! And you can totally play used games. Only thing is, all games for Series X need to run on Series S which is way less powerful.
Microsoft needs to release a statement that in _____ months, all games will be optimized for Series X and will not be accessible on Series S or former generational consoles.

Anyone else notice these games are just optimized like shit? It’s obvious the second they hit PC and run like garbage.
I have the series s and it honestly doesn’t feel like a next gen console other than the fast loading times, however I knew this going in and only use it as a gamepass machine. I probably won’t use it at all once my gamepass runs out
Even if they get it to a stable 30 for a first person game I would consider that unacceptable. I can accept 3rd person games at 30FPS but not 1st person.

The console is so cheap, sometimes you can find for less 200€.
You can play a lot of games on that small machine, for 1080 is good enough.
Microsoft was stupid on cutting on the ram, should be the same as series X, still, the console is really good.
And to be honest, nowadays a lot of games are badly optimized, and only running at stable fps with dlss or fsr…

yes optimisation plays a huge role too…
But it’s very complex, there’s no modern gaming PC with only 8+2GB of SHARED ram, we are talking system and video. That serie S only has 10GB with 2GB reserved for the system.
Albeit of slower speed, Rasperry pi have 8GB of shared RAM…not a damn console that needs to run all your gaming roadmap until 2028 or something.
They really fumbled hard on the serie S, I am quite curious about its sales since they are not published, was it worth it ?
