I just realized gen z would have no idea that microsoft excel started out as text messenger for PDAs and blackberries before making its way into pc.

    I’m a millennial and had also no idea. Excel 95 was my first experience. By that time, it already could do 99.999999999% of what you’re doing in Excel right now. We’re literally running bloatware for no apparent reason.

    Fun fact, Excel can be used in tandem with outlook to do mail merging, which is used for email lists. If you were to fill that list in Excel with carrier email-to-sms addresses, you could do something loosely defined as sending texts from Excel.
