Thinking of converting to linux when windows 10 stops getting updates next year. Heard mint is a good beginner distro, is that generally accepted? Just worry about some games and apps that might not run on linux. Might get another ssd just to dual boot windows for stuff like that, although I’ve heard there are some things that can be emulated through proton.

I prefer Linux, but now my new chick got me back to League of Legends and Valorant so I also use Windows and it’s ok.
And MacOS is the OS of the Macbooks, which right now are the best laptops for video editing.

I tried Linux and it’s fine for the most part. The thing is that I had to spend a very long time troubleshooting random problems and really doubt that I’d be able to do that if it wasn’t for the summer break.
Also lots of software just won’t work, even with wine.

And for some reason I was always interested in Linux, even while running Windows, only changed a few days ago, but even before that I loved trying it for years and just playing with it. Now I can still see myself switching back to Windows, but I hope I don’t have to

For people that actually gave a try to all 3 each for more than 6 months, you know that all 3 of them excel in a few specific tasks.
Trust me, you just end up with 3 computers if you’re someone with the means to do so.

Different operating systems have different uses. There’s no objective best. Use the one that suits your needs.
Someone actually using Mac here? I barely see anyone talking about it.
