I’ve thought about upgrading but I’ll probably just run it till it dies
LifeOnMarsden
Truly one of the greatest GPUs ever made, I don’t think I’ll ever have another card last me as long as my 1080 Ti did
My 3080 began showing its limitations way earlier by comparison
Kumo1019
definitely more of a 1080p card these days but if what you play can run at 1440p then I see no reason to upgrade until its dead
RepulsiveXxl
Yes yess! It will be one of those cards that will only be phased out because of legacy/non drivers support. Pure horsepower though it can run!

I moved my 1070 to my son’s “new” 7700k system that I mashed together for him. Thing still does really well at 1080p. Now he is currently playing threw my 500 steam games. I feel the 1070 and 1080s were just really good.

Hey, if it still works perfectly fine for you, that’s awesome.

I’m still jamming on my 1080ti too bro. Hell yeah 👌

1080 Ti was arguably the greatest GPU in history.
I really miss my 1080. I’d still be using it today if it hadn’t died. Fortunately, I had an EVGA warranty so when it died they replaced it for free and gave me an upgrade to a 2070 super (which I’m still using). The fact that EVGA doesn’t make graphics cards anymore is an absolute travesty.

i have a 1080ti FE for backup if something happens to my actual card..
it’s definetly a BEAST

I do 1440p with a 1060. On low I get at least 60fps in most games. I’m happy with it.

I had a great 980ti for a LOOOONG time before my PSU exploded. It wasn’t even new when I got it. My older brother gave it to me to save money on my first hand build. It lasted 7 more years until that computer died.
Darklord_Bravo
I played Cyberpunk on my EVGA 1080ti FTW3 at 1440p on an ultra wide. Looked fantastic, and was getting 90-1120 fps pretty regularly.
Man do I miss EVGA cards.

It came out years into the previous gen console cycle as a high end GPU that demolished console hardware of the time. That cycle lasted a long time, longer than it should have due to global issues. It’s not so much that it’s magic hardware it’s that game graphics stagnated on PS4 level hardware for such a long time. Now the new bar is PS5 level hardware finally, and unsurprisingly the magic smoke is dissipating.

Bought a 2080ti shortly after release when i got it for 1660$ all in (CDN). It’s a gigabyte card and hear they had fan problems.
I opened up the case to add an expansion card and noticed 2 of the 3 fans are toast. Ordered and replaced 2 but they were slightly larger and mounting bracket was wrong.
I got them in by clipping rhe fins and using 1 of the 2 screw mounts until the 5000s are out. Hope everything stays in place.

Yeah, my mate has the goat card and I have my rx 6600.
I get blown away at how he keeps up almost to the digit with my fps.
Amazing card. “They don’t make em like they used to”

Most people play FPS at lowest settings, not really a flex, it is a great card though, i had one for years.

I think mine unfortunately is starting to kick the bucket. Currently, when doing absolutely nothing, fan 2 will crank up to 4000+ RPM for no reason at all. Literally doing nothing but sitting on the desktop. Reinstalled Windows, still does the same thing. It’ll do this off/on.
The only game I play daily is Rocket League and that’s nothing really, fans still go burrrr.

Still rocking my 1070 😌💪 not planning to change it until it breaks

The 1080Ti was Nvidias greatest mistake. They went overboard and made a card that was too good.

my asus dual 1070 is still running nicely at 1080p ultra with moderate temps (35-40 idle / 60-70 load).
i haven’t had the courage to take it apart so everything is still stock from when i got it in 2017.

I have no idea how such a dogshit company could make a GPU that can last so long still being better than most people’s builds today for such a low price compared to their current flagship cards. And that’s including inflation.
Kougeru-Sama
No it can’t lol. Not anything modern at 60 fps.

I too game at 1440 P, but I bought a 240 Hz display
It’s so goddamn fast I had to upgrade my CPU too 🥵
