Huge gain from Ryzen cpus when using latest unreleased windows 24H2 build. How has zen4 been under performing so much for so long?
The new version of windows boosts both Zen 4 and Zen 5 cpus. This is just a free 10%(@1080p) improvement to old Zen 4 cpu.

AMD says no performance improvement will happen on intel cpus . The benchmarks by Hardware Unboxed confirm this except for one outlier game.
In their testing, no game out of the 40+ so a performance regression and no game did not improve.

How are you benchmarking this?
Do you have VBS/VBM and Core Isolation disabled?
Performance gains over 15-30% in some games, 0% in 3-4 games.
Zen 4 gained 10% on average, Zen 5 gained 11%. Average difference between 7700X and 9700X went from 1% to 2% on average.
So AMD focusing their announcement on hyping the gains for Zen 5 while barely mentioning Zen 4 is basically getting the same improvements…
Still makes Zen 5 launch look silly considering the launch price vs the market price for Zen 4 models…
So Windows was sandbagging all Zen processors all this time?
Haven’t finished the video yet but this seems pretty wild. I wouldn’t mind a bit more juice out of my 7600.

These gains are nuts. Huge win for Zen 4 / 5 users.
So all this time, Intel was competing with a nerfed version of Ryzen? I mean sure, even with this uplift, Zen 5 is going to just match Raptor Lake, if not beat it(not to mention Arrow Lake is releasing soon), but it’s still pretty impressive what they were able to do with such a disadvantage. Makes X3D look even more powerful than it already is.
Like seriously, upto a 30% uplift in some games is nothing short of insane

I thought such performance boosts by update were a thing of the past. I mean it’s not the same as a actual BIOS update smoothing things out like I had in the past but probably seeing noticeable performance gains in Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be neat

Is this update exclusive to Win11 or is Win10 also getting a similar performance lift?
In gaming all these PCs are likely identical in performance because you’ll be GPU limited, outside sports anyway.
Where the performance differences matter is productivity. That’s spending less time waiting etc
7700X has 105 TDP and 9700X has 65W. Even if it is the same performance and it draws less power, that is good gain over the generation for me.
Some one jumped on the 24h2 build already ? big gains ?
