It’s crazy how we are only discovering this now. Although it’s good news for AMD, I feel that it’s both AMD’s and also Microsoft’s fault that this was not discovered much sooner. Like seriously, all the way back till Zen 3???

Did you even watch the video or did you just skip to the end blue bars graph? The 24H2 is on the insiders beta update branch of Windows, so good luck with getting all that not polished and not finished update.
Also, you could at least credit Hardware Unboxed for their hard work doing those massive benchmarks.

So we’ve learned windows sucks at task assignment and compiling? Meanwhile does Linux get a boost? No because it’s already doing it more efficiently.

Man I was Intel fanboy since the Celeron 300A but after the latest fiasco from Intel I am so glad to see this news. Feel happy for you guys from the other side.

I just wish Steve would test the architecture of Zen 4 and Zen 5 on a level playing field. Either give the 9700x the same ppt as the 7700x or use a 7700. His 7700x win11 23h2 data is from a 3 week old video (win11 vs win10). He should have set the PPT on the 9700x to 120w.
Thought process is that with more frames/work being produced on 24h2 the power envelop of 88w on 9700x could be closing in maxed out. Letting it push to 120w might net a further 5%.
Is this on Amd or Microsoft? lol

Great gains for Zen 4 and Zen 5 (and maybe Zen 3 as well). But there is no real change between Zen 4 and Zen 5 gaming performance improvement (gen on gen improvement).

– Zen 5 (9700x) faster than Zen 4 (7700x) by average 1% 😂

This is big news if it’s real.
Based on the free boost, I am curious how it would compare to Windows 10 or a Linux distro. I am wondering if Windows did something to improve the process or if it’s a patch to fix a F up by Windows.
As a 7700X owner, I’m happy to get free performance uplifts.
I’m not sure if 24H2 is out yet. Steve referred to it a a preview build of windows.

Windows still won’t give me the update and I’m in preview branch. Must be a nasty bug for zen 3 preventing it from being pushed to me. That’s the reason they give for putting a forced hold on an update anyways

Do I need to be on Windows 11 for this? Does this now translate to Windows 11 being better for gaming than 10? Or is it still beneficial to be running Windows 10 over the new upgraded Windows 11? I have a 5900x for context
Is this for those who upgraded to win11 or will it work with win10? Not very familiar with the windows version but I know my setup performs better on win10
My question is, did anyone test Linux performance vs Windows performance pre-update? Did anyone see a 10% performance difference? If not, I assume now Linux drops out for anyone that wants to game on it, because the difference would now be huge.
