What in the actual holy flying cow, i just did a repaste of my gpu and after i was done, i found this little guy in the spot where i put my gpu. I hope it was already loose before and everything just works as it did before. What are the chances this thing is just redundant?

The spec sheet says my gpu has 57,7 million transistors, so it’s probably fine if i lose one, right?
Oh no.
That’s the Thingamabob. That’s big trouble.
Edit – Closer inspection it’s the doohickey. You might be fine.
there’s 0 chance it’s redundant, no manufacturer is gonna waste money adding things that are not needed. Yes, your GPU may continue to function but voltage may fluctuate a lot more and it’ll be more likely to burn out because of that.
