According to Valve employees (just trust me, I cannot remember where to find the source), Half-Life 3 has been in the works multiple times. But every time it comes to nothing as they cannot find anything they believe would satisfice the audience.
Oh, is it time for the annual Half-Life 3 rumors? Man, time really does seem to move faster the older I get.
And here we see a HL3 rumor in its natural habitat: Unconfirmed on an obscure gaming website.
These rumors normally prey on innocent, unskeptical Valve fans. But steady changes in Earth’s gaming climate have reduced their population in recent years.
Are there enough innocent fans to keep this poor rumor alive? Seemingly not. This poor rumor will likely starve.
Crazy how all media outlers have to do is tag something as rumors and everyone bites and they generate clicks and revenue.
Next week “rumor: Gordon Freeman and the blackmesa compound are story based on a real lifetime event”

Even if this is true, I don’t care. I played the original as a kid when it came out in 98′ and loved it, played HL2 when that came out in 03 or 04 and liked it well enough, but it’s 20 years later. I stopped being excited for episode 3 or Half-life 3, whatever they decide to call it, over a decade ago. If it comes out, great, I’ll play it. If it doesn’t, I will feel absolutely nothing.
Fool me once, shame on… shame on you. Fool me, you can’t get fooled again.

This is like the 3rd HL3 rumor I’ve read this month. Either shit is actually happening, or someone is making fake rumors and laughing at us.
