I picked up some orange item in Diablo IV really really early on that had me basically a god for quite a few levels before it became inept against the enemies I was facing. Don’t ask me what it was I can’t remember at all, but it got a “holy s***” out of my party.
This is also my reaction to almost every gun in the Borderlands series.

Basically it records your stats and then you have to level up a certain number of times in specific stats to get it. It doesn’t have a minimum stat requirement but rather sets the goal based off of whatever level you are initially at when you first touch it.
