PLaying 4,5 and 6 all I ever wanted was for them to live up to what I experienced playing Far Cry 2, none of them could. Pulling out your map obsessively stuidying the green blink of the diamond tracker frantically evading enemies as your weapon exploded in your hands THE LOUD REV OF THE ENEMY JEEP SUDDENLY CHARGING YOU gently pottering down a river in a boat as that huge sunset slowly went down on the horizon. Finally having enough diamonds to visit the computer and buy new gear etc etc etc.
It confounds me that Ubisoft made a game like Far cry2 and then abandoned mostly all of the elements that made it so special and so memoprable in our minds decades later in favour of being so generic and even hollow in comparison.
Far Cry 2 is an amazing game that gave us so much a legendary game in the stack of Ubisoft titles that brown and blue tinged savanna felt so lived in and so authentic yet the graphical technology advances and gameplay improvements made since have not come close to even replicating any of it for a modern audience.
If you are a fan of the game as much as I am I’ll meet you at Mikes bar for a few and share a few war stories.

i played 3 and 4 and own the rest after that (except the caveman one) was far cry 2 ever on consoles? Because if this is a console capture then it looks really good

Best in the series imo. I don’t know why they don’t bring back the buddy system. Such a cool feature.
