Wow. I was sceptical from the onset, that’s some scary alligations – but after reading everything…
Guess you can only keep your con going for so long before people take notice. Impressive he got away with it for so long though.

Is nonexistence not the greatest disability of all?

> Within months of Craven’s introduction of Banks, Craven claimed Banks had been hospitalized after dropping a KitchenAid mixer on her foot, according to both an anonymous former business associate of Craven’s I spoke to, and my own past conversations with Craven. Several hours later, her leg was allegedly amputated, and nearly 48 hours after the first operation, her other leg was amputated as well.

““Deaf, Muslim, queer, disabled, gamer nerd” through accessibility reviews and interactions with varying studios and advocates. These posts regularly explored topics like Deaf and hard-of-hearing accessibility in games, living with mental health-related disabilities like schizophrenia, racism, and being in a queer relationship.”
Ticking that many boxes should have been the first clue to dig a little deeper.

That’s completely insane. This guy created not one, not two, *not even just three,* but FOUR total fake people and kept their nonexistence hidden for literal years. Not only that, he successfully used them to promote himself and his articles with sufficient effectiveness to ensure a comfortable life. I don’t know what amount of impact the fake accounts may have had on the disabled community, but I’m totally blown away by this con. I know truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to be believable, but this is **nuts.**

Fair to play to whoever was behind this scam making money of peoples stupidity and refusal to do any sort of fact checking or due diligence
