Imagine trying to run across a battle royale map, you’d be fucked.

  2. Heather_368

with tech like that – there wont be a single obese kid
every COD player would look like olimpic swimmer

  3. The radius seems so small I can easily see myself stepping out of the circle and hitting the side of this thing hard.

Also, I do not want to sweat when I’m wearing a VR headset, it feels gross.

  4. Low-Bat384

This would do wonders lowering my 4+ gaming hours to 1 tops

  5. voidscaped

Is he basically slipping on the curved platform?

  6. who would game like that in jeans? this is nuts.

  7. FPS_Holland

What’s the brand? have some spare money to throw at them.

  8. I feel like the weight of everything holding you in would be annoying

  9. fthisappreddit

What’s this thing called? Isn’t it cheap now or there’s a cheap version cause didn’t that lady who played through all of fallout by walking use that?

And then you try to do a roll or a slide and break the machine.

I’ve used the previous type units and almost went into business selling them. Glad I didn’t. It’s really not as fun as you think it would be or looks. The machine needs to be calibrated and never acts right. The running is you wearing pegs on your feet that you basically have to slide along the surface of the platform. It’s very awkward, but you can get used to it. This kind of gaming will be peak when they get the omnidirectional treadmills perfected like ready player one. VR is great for exercise, but I would go with the boxing apps or beat saber personally.

Ready player one might come into reality after seeing this post ngl

Got a Gen 1 katwalk. It’s stupid fun.

The biggest thing I hate though is that movement speed is based on the game, not your feet. So when you go to sprint in Skyrim, into the radius, Pavlov, etc: you move the same speed as moving a joystick.

I get why this is, but removes a huge amount of emersion when in a fight

  14. Korvas576

If I had a rig like this it would definitely motivate me to exercise more

  15. HankThrill69420

this is what it’s gonna take for me to get back into VR. could use the cardio

  16. Poe-taye-toes

Whenever I see one of these I just imagine falling over forward and swinging backwards nuts first into the pole.

  17. MarceloWallace

I walk/run on my treadmill 2-3 miles a day and have a VR I been thinking about getting something like this

  18. Bacon-muffin

That’d actually be great, gamers would become known as the ripped athletic people xD

  19. Samael-Armaros

I want this, exercise and fun all in one. Until I reach my five step maximum and have to stand there soaking up damage because I’m out of breath.

  20. vladaddy2508

What is this? Does this work on skyrim?

  21. 0531Spurs212009

I really like it if this became possible and more easy accessible to common fan

imagine how tired already I am playing switch sports
    XD

  22. faucettopg

I’m not sure I’d want to sweat while wearing a VR headset, seems like a recipe for sweat staining and a headache.

  23. socialmakerx

Out of all the clothing that guy could have uswd he stopped at jeans. Enjoy your ball rashes.

  24. wolfmanskidude

So THIS is what my upstairs neighbor is doing at 3am

  25. Gentle_Capybara

I’d pay real money (if I had any) to play Fallout 4 in this thing. I want to cross the Commonwealth and kill Raiders with this device.

  26. nesnalica

the thing is. its cool for the first time. and then you get lazy and do VR like everyone else by not moving.

  27. Evelyne-The-Egg

Pair this tech with Skyrim VR.

Commit to never using fast travel.

    Profit

  28. Restivethought

I tried this thing, and I dont think I could do it. It feels really weird.
