Definitely Dogmeat from the Fallout series! He’s a loyal companion who helps you in battles and looks adorable doing it. Plus, who can resist that wagging tail and those floppy ears? A true good boy in every wasteland.

My favorite is probably the dog from RE4. You save him at the beginning only for him to show back up in a clutch moment to help you fight El Gigante.
Been a while since I played the original, so I can’t remember if it played out the same way in it, but I absolutely love how he makes his return in the remake. Just hearing the howl to then look up and see him at the top of the hill with a lightingbolt in the background. Not only is he helpful, but badass as well. Truly the goodest boy!

I once programed a mudcrab to spawn outside of Balmora to be a questing companion with dialog and everything. Pumped up it’s speed by about 400%. Crabby and I would purge the cliff racer menace from Morrowind together.
