My statistics are all over the place though. I typically let Royce live and tell him about militech being on to him (makes the mission with Nance more fun imo). But one thing I never tried is to get rid of both Royce and Brick. Next playthrough.
I have played it so many times, and I have yet to take down Royce during the conversation. It is a really great mission and they did a good job giving us some choices that actually affect different parts of it.

I’ve done the boss fight with Royce twice. This most recent run I killed brick too so see what’s up in the Totentaz later for myself. I’ve already seen the difference referenced but I’m playing a let timers run out game. With the exception of the ones that kill you of course.
They made this mission nice for the demo. Not player release demo, just media demo. Lots of nice scripted stuff going on, but yeah, they really went all out to give you options here so they could show them off. The one I saw had a disclaimer that the game features you saw in the demo were a work in progress and might not be in the final game. The features that they were showing off was the mantis blades letting you climb the walls, which is not in the final game. Since you barely have any chrome at this point unless you specifically head out to get some more, I’m guessing this mission was done as a proof of concept internally and then it’s place in the game was sorted out later.

I only fight Royce on Nomad runs because of all the rewards you can get from Stout after. IMO Streetkid and Corpo can both see right through her obvious credchip scheme, but Corpo calls her out to her face while a Streetkid just smiles, nods, and checks the chip after she leaves.
And besides, Dum Dum’s gun is better than Royce’s.

I always end up shooting Royce in the face.
