  1. I was so shocked back then, killing Ghost like that, I still hate that guy

They don’t make campaigns like they used to

Its like having a sleep paralysis. You want to move your mouse and press the keyboard but your character wont move… I hate that man. I swear.

I replayed this game a couple months ago. It’s crazy how everyone, including me, loved Ghost so much. He has only a handful of lines, and only really appears in 4 missions. Still an awesome character, but crazy how he became so well loved by wearing a cool skull mask

I remember, It took me a while to process what happened

Five years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye… and the world just fuckin’ watched.

I always play with subtitles, so I noticed the ‘I’ll be watching you’ line right before he fired. I knew something was up. Still, that scene was amazing. Probably one of my favorite video game scenes of all time.

The first time I realized I actually cared about the story in a video game. Fucking heart breaking

Holy shit, I thought that video was a live stream and the streamer got the shock of his life.

And the music as it comes in and all you hear is price yelling on the radio.

Never trust a dude with a mustache and a beret.

Kick to the balls is Roach(the player) being still alive when they’re pouring gasoline and we hear Price’s voice through the comms to not trust Shepherd, I mean the timing… Oof.

  13. CRAkraken

Yeah. He’s holding a pistol and still has one in this shoulder holster. Devastating.

“Five years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye. And the world just fuckin’ watched.”

  15. The ending of MW1 was also a gut punch. When you watch your whole team (or so you think) die…it takes a toll.

I’m still annoyed they re-used Gaz’s voice actor for Ghost, leading to wild speculation that Gaz didn’t actually die in CoD4, only to reveal it’s a totally different person who somehow has an identical voice…

And in the reboots it felt like they were setting it up for Alex Keller to survive the explosion and return as Ghost (burns all over would explain why he wears a mask, and faking his death to become a “ghost”, a nameless operator), only for them to again make Ghost a totally unrelated character who wears a mask for no reason (or at least it’s not explained in-game), and Alex is brought back with a prosthetic leg.

    So many missed opportunities here.

Oh the real MWII? Not from the time they released it for the 6th fucking time?

I felt like something was off when I saw Shepard step out of the helicopter. Then he shot my boi Ghost and my life was never the same.

He betrayed them long before this, obviously. This is the scene where they learn that he betrayed them, where they learn he’s a traitor.

  20. FermisParadoXV

I literally screamed “no” at the screen.

Facts! This scene was tough. I remember mashing everything!

  22. BassheadRex

I was so hurt I didn’t finished the campaign for months after I finished this mission

Ah I have to say it, I replayed this recently, and this whole scene made me laugh out loud. It’s really impressionable for a child, or a teen, but as an adult I was like “how was it not obvious that Shepherd would betray us, how the hell did we make it through that field of gunfire while I was being dragged, why did I care about Ghost so much, why is Shepherd the one out here shooting us and lighting us on fire other than story reasons, the slow motion shots plus music was waay too dramatic for something that felt so predictable”

I know I’m probably going against the grain with this one but it’s my experience as an adult revisiting this game I played as a young teen
