I just received publicity to buy gaming pc. And it has such a bad combination of parts. Like who the hell put a i9-13900H with a Rtx 3050 wtf??? When I wanted to see the price and specifications they redirected me to download Aliexpress app hahaha. Terrible marketing and Terrible combination of pc parts.

These mini PCs are often so shit, I remember seeing a GT 1030 machine years ago for $2350AUD
TBF it’s not a bad combination if you don’t require the gpu for gaming. You’d hope that using a low tier GPU keeps the cost down (relatively speaking).

Is it really marketed as a gaming PC? Often such mini PC’s with good CPUs and bad GPUs only have these GPUs for multi Monitor setups (even though 13th gen should be able to support multiple UHD monitors) At least that’s what we did a few years back, where someone got 2 UHD monitors and because their igpu didn’t support it, they’d get like a 1060 or something like that.
Same for the laptops we have at less than $1000. They be like ryzen 7 or i7 with a 3050 or 4050.
Well, not everyone plays video games. I think 13900H – RTX3050 combination is perfectly balanced for video editing on Adobe Premiere.

To be honest it’s not as bad configuration as it looks at first sight. This CPU is right in the middle of i5 14400 and i5 14600k in terms of performance, so it’s basically mid tier CPU with entry level GPU – not ideal for gaming but in most cases it’s fine.
Pre-builts are based upon price not on useful features for the end-user.
The price savings for using cheaper parts is also not passed on to the end user.
Pre-builts are economies of scale. Companies purchase parts for cents and charge us tens of dollars for those parts.
That company purchased a but-load of those AMD cards. Those cards will make their way into every box they can stuff them into.
That’s the whole story bruh. That’s it. Cost.

A quick search shows this one the AliExpress site and it is listed for $617 US with no RAM or storage and the price goes up from there.

Man seeing people calling 3050 a bad graphics card, while I see the 1650 as my ultimate dream, that I will be able to buy in 8 years
As an entry level workstation with a small footprint, this makes fine sense for some people. I mean surely not the best bang for buck by any means, but gamers tend to see very tunnel visionary on what “performance” means. Plenty of editing and 3D tools or data handling software rely heavily on CPU power more than GPU for example, so you only really need the GPU for certain basic RTX accelerator features, a bit of vram, and video out.
Still overall pretty shit, but it’s contextual shit.
Looks like a workstation for 3D modeling, rendering, CAD, photo-/ video editing etc. You need a good CPU and a bunch of RAM but not necessarily a good GPU. A mid range GPU mostly way enough to use it for hardware acceleration like PhysiX etc.
Not every build with a high performance CPU is for gaming.
why not allocate some of the ram budget into a not piss poor gpu
Its probably more for productivity. 13900H isnt a gaming CPU to begin with, just too many cores on it that just produce heat and make it harder to cool when you really just need those 8 P-cores.
Which brings me to my second observation, this looks like a mini-case, so where in the name of everything that is holy did they fit a cooling system capable of keeping that monstrosity halfway below its melting point? Even under ideal circumstances these things simply cant be cooled properly when under a full all-core load because the IHS just doesnt conduct enough heat, so youd need to delid it. Which is never ever happening in a pre-built.

It is even worse. It is notebook hardware. That “3050” is a laptop 3050.
64 GB RAM indicates a workstation to me, a 3050 card the need for more multiple monitors.
Definitely not gaming and AlieXpres is a big no for me anyway, but the specs by themselves are not that weird.
The only bad part is the case, no way this keeps a 13900 cool (and yeah 13th gen I know…)
An i9 13900H “sounds like” it’s pretty good.

So there are 11 different Intel Core i9 “13900” processors. With huge differences between them. And some even have different core counts. The TE only has a quarter of the processing power of the KS. The H (as in OP’s thing) has less than half the processing power of the KS, and it’s missing 2 P-cores, and missing 8 E-cores.
How is this an i9 ?
