If my screen isn’t dim enough at minimum brightness then I just lower contrast. Can’t do much when already at max brightness to make it any brighter.

Depends for me

this is a lot more true on phones but generally yes

This really depends on if you play in the dark. Which I don’t.

On my phone yes. Minimum brightness is not enough for nighttime in the complete darkness. Mainly for checking what time it is when I wake up or go to bed. But I like my monitor being really bright and colourful. Usually I have at least a small light on behind it to light everything around it or the main room light is on

I’ll take a 300 nit OLED over a 1000 nit IPS any day

When the sun is bright coming through my window I’d rather have a bright monitor. I never turn the brightness down, idk why you would.
But then I use light mode for everything. I’ve no idea why so many people struggle with it 🤷♀️

Turn brightness… down?
eww-fascism-kill-it
As a fan of horror games, yes. Yes i do.

Dim saves power and is easier on the eyes, but I really need a brighter screen so I can see it outdoors in the sun.

i have never once cared about how dim my monitor got
i care about how bright
Duox_TV
thanks to my eye issues I can only use tn panels or OLED. anything inbetween kills my eyes. And even on the screens I can use they can’t be brighter than 10 percent usually.

I’ve never once thought my screen was too bright. Higher sustained brightness has always been my goal

Even if there’s no sun where you’re sitting right now.. Daylight still makes it difficult to use a laptop.. I guess this is why you’re waiting to argue with people with your coffee instead of playing like the rest of us..

I want the extremes to be as extreme as possible. The option to go really dark or really bright is what I think is good. With LCDs, having the option to turn off just the backlight might be a plus.
