3 is a banger, just insane playtime for the time, it was CRAZY.

I’ll be honest, 3 is my least favorite of the NES/SNES area, but I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

The time loop was quite the twist.
I have never managed to get very far in FF2. The translated ROM was a big deal back in the day, but I couldn’t wrap my head around the leveling scheme. I should definitely revisit it one of these days.
I managed to get quite far in FF3, both the NES and DS remake, but I kept getting kinda weary by the endgame and never finished them. Sigh, another for the backlog.

Just pre-ordered the pixel remake (I-VI). Super stoked about it

I love the first Final Fantasy (especially the soundtrack)

I remember doing both of these and finally getting to FF3….i never finished it due to getting stuck on a final boss. XD

Nice. I went through and finished all the big numbered and important games during the early pandemic. Turns out they’re mostly not very good games but I enjoyed my time with them for the most part. I played 1 at the very end of my journey and found it to be one of the best because it was just the simplest.
1 was fantastic. Then there’s a little dip until 5 and 6. Then the 7 and 8 dip. 9 probably the peak. 12 the last good single player game (if you use the 4x speed in the remaster otherwise it’s way too slow).
The MMOs are kind of the best offering. If you’re going through all of them don’t sleep on 11. It’s a pain in the ass to create an account but once you’re in there it’s good stuff. I only needed another human player to help me with the final boss of the latest expansion. I ended up playing for two months after I was finished. 11 rips.

FF3 is hard to beat, just a heads up. At least the DS version was, I got all the way to the last tower I think and just said nah…
It’s a definite step up from 1 and 2 though, so it’ll be fun. Don’t feel ashamed to boost at the end.

Good luck. I think the final dungeon of FF3 is devilish hard
I recommend the Steam version, It have autosave feature

Many people consider FF 1 to be the most difficult!

FF3 and FF5 are my favorite legacy FF games. I have a major hardon for the job system, it’s so fun. These games are classics. Credit to FF4 for amazing set piece fights and levels though, even if it is a bit more linear.

those classics deserve the best treatment

Enjoy! I’m not one to read up on these games before playing but I do wish I had read up on 3’s job system because of the little intricacies. You might get some minor spoilers though so do so at your own risk.

I started playing through this series since I didn’t play it much as a kid outside of the first game. I’m currently on 6 of the pixel remasters(I also went ahead and played 7 and 10).
I really like the job system in 3 and 5 and wish more of them used it, though at least it returns in 10-2 when I get around to that.

That’s awesome, I’m playing FF6 right now. They’re great games, I like 4, 6, 7 and 9 best.
