Took the kids on their first trip to Microcenter and they were in awe. Got myself a new build and then all my old parts became my oldest daughter’s new PC, and her old parts became my youngest daughter’s new PC. My youngest had 12+ year old parts scrounged together to let her play Minecraft, but she quickly wanted to start playing more demanding games after about 8 months with the machine.
Specs for each machine:
Ryzen 7 7800X3D / 7900 XT / 32GB
i7 10700K / RTX 2070 Super / 64GB
Ryzen 5 1600 / GTX 1660 Ti / 16GB

Yes! It’s the way to do it!
My dad when I was a kid would keep his GPU boxes and when he’d get a new GPU he’d box the old one back and wrap it for Christmas.
So when I begged him for a GEforce 3 to play Doom 2000, he already had it and I worked house chores for 6months.
He didn’t tell me this until after and he thought it was genius.
