This was outside the coffee shop I frequent and thought it was hysterical. Scan the QR at your own risk, public QR codes are a red flag from a cyber security standpoint.

That’s kinda cool, I like it. Imagine seeing this back in the day, with like WOW guilds or whatever they’re called.

Fully agreed on the cybersecurity part.

But still, it’s a good way of getting a local gaming group set up. Which isn’t a bad thing.

That’s the difference between a successful and a mid clan

Kid: hey dad, cam you help me post flyers for my clash of clans clan?

Dad: sure Billy, we can take a go at stealing people credit card numbers!

This warms my heart to see kids still doing this. 20 years ago when I was like 12, I made a message board for my Pokemon and Runescape clans and put posters up. I never had many members, but I did get some presumably older people who joined and tried to take over my message board.

Honestly would rather have this then the generic ads I see every day for plumbers, cleaners, tech stores etc.

(Also I do agree that this might be malicious don’t scan random qr codes, although this looks too innocent and too random to be a virus)

There’s a guy in my town who puts up signs with his twitch link around the city. Not going to lie, I checked it out, so it seems to be somewhat effective in getting clicks.
