I just remembered this game I played as a kid. Especially the level in the dark, quite difficult! Someone else here remember that game?

Never played 2nd part but the first had an incredibly inconvenient input layout. The player was forced to fight with the engine, not with the game enemies. The only game with even worse controls was Crusader: No regret.

But visually it was stunning at its time.

  2. i played the second LBA game always, only now with GOG do i own both titles, still haven’t played the first one.

i remember and love this game until this day. the graphics are still gorgeous, they still look very very good, like HoMaM 3.

yes the control scheme was .. oldschool. tank-like turning and forward-backwards. but also 4 moods to approach situations. that was cool!

and then absolutely joyful beautiful music. awesome game LBA2 was.

i was looking fwd to the new LBA game but when i saw how it looks, the magic is gone. 🙁

Could you help heal my dino-fly?

Ah man LBA 2 is my literal childhood. No game can ever recreate the magic and atmosphere it had.

In my opinion it still holds up today. Even though Gen Z gamers heads would likely explode at the control scheme. Never stopped hoping for a sequel or a proper remaster, but that’s like the most out there dream ever…

I played the first LBA on PS1, and I never passed the first stage. “This game is so captivating that it will become your world”, the blurb said. I don’t think so (or perhaps I was too young).

I loved it as a kid, I felt like I’m actually on a huge adventure, meeting fun creatures and seeing cool places, while actually dealing with big issues and bad guys. It gave me a few nightmares, as well.

    I love it.

Such a breath of fresh air when it first came out. I don’t think I had a PC that could handle the game at the time. Had to pop over to a friend’s house.

  7. Wow, thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories!
I loved the ambience, I still remember walking around town by night, rain pouring down.

Loved LBA 2, maybe the first adventure game I’ve ever completed.

Wait that’s the name of that game??? One of my teachers had that as a demo we played on her PC in highschool decades ago

Both of these games are on steam, I’ve been playing them on the deck and it’s perfect!

  10. This game is a big chunk of my childhood. I was young and would frequently get stuck, but over time I would learn how to move forward. It’s such an amazing concept. Tried the first one but didn’t like it at all, the second one is much better.

Not sure if a sequel would hold up nowadays, games have changed too much.

Why is it that the first thing that came to my head was “hey hey people…”
