Depends on your country’s laws how you can get rid of dangerous waste. Here in Hungary we can take e-waste to recycle points for free.

Put it all together and see if it’ll run Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Retro PC, or sell it. Those are both worth a bit of money, but nothing too crazy. With ebay prices it could be around 100 USD or so. People pay way too much for this stuff, but there is a market.

Unless tinkering with really old tech or if you have a youtube channel that centers around the stuff, your best bet would be to recycle it.

The So-DIMMs might be okay, they look like ECC variants. Depends on what size they are, though.

The rest would take a lot of effort to use, and aren’t really compatible with modern parts. So unless you just like to run old machines for fun, it’s going to take a decent amount of effort to put these to any worthwhile use.

I can understand why it was free

That being said, you can try and make sure the old motherboards and CPU’s work, then sell them as retro parts. The PCIe gpu might make for a good testing card, but that’s hoping it can display from uefi. The hard drives are either junk or super slow, but I don’t how reliable they’ll be. Maybe you can use the working ones for a server of some sorts or something.

I have a box full of stuff like that in my closet and I don’teven think I could give it away but I’m in the US in a fairly well-to-do college town.

    Looking at everything:

PCI cards are pretty much useless

That GPU is a great display adapter

The big middle motherboard is AMAZING for a retro rig

The right motherboard i can’t tell what exactly it is, maybe P4? Regardless, that can probably make something retro too.

    Used keyboards are disgusting.

    no comment about everything else

  8. Maingamer3782

Dude, that motherboard.. its so good for a retro rig!

  9. Meadowlion14

I see a gt210 and random USB and WiFi cards. Depending on the motherboard CPU combo they could be good XP machines.

  10. socalsool

The blue 775 motherboard with both the AGP and PCIe GPU expansion slots and also has both DDR 400 / DDR 2 dimm slots is worth a fair bit in the retro community.

    Asrock dual VISTA maybe ?

Soo much history on one shoot jummy

  12. Joshualikeitsnothing

looking like some loose dinosaur bones that arent even from the same skeleton

  13. Everything besides hard drives and msata ssd is garbage. (Maybe if you send those to 3rd work countries it’s different but still)

P.S. also you can use metal for other PCs if they need extra metal bricks for cooling

I would like that motherboard! Can you send it to me for a small amount of money?

Off topic, but how are you liking the 6750XT, I have a friend considering it as an option, but I can’t give them a proper recommendation besides online numbers

that black pcb mobo would make a nice windows 98 retro pc, for real work that socket 775 mobo just might work depending on what you are after

  18. CommercialYouth250

Dame well see if it can run Lego island

  19. Free_Caballero

Yeah me wandering in an e-waste center would probably exit with pretty mucho the same amount of e-waste hahaha

You don’t have really anything interesting, just old cheap hardware that probably has more value in the gold they have than as a computer part lol

  20. Tyr_Kukulkan

This is all very old and seriously outdated. Both boards have AGP slots!

r/retrobattlestations might like it but PCMR material this stopped being before 2010.

You will struggle to find even modern Linux distributions that will run well on this kit. Most smartphones are more powerful and use a miniscule fraction of the electricity.

Could be a couple of cool retro projects with Windows XP.

  21. rextnzld

Honestly most of that is probably just junk ngl. If it works maybe make a Linux sever? Don’t see windows running on that

  22. apachelives

Socket 775 + VIA chipset, garbage.

The Socket 370 board, oooooooooo. I bet is 800 something mhz coppermine core too (800EB etc).

  23. mistericek1

if you can launch solitare ill give u 1 zimbabwean dollar

  24. NotJustBibbit

Ngl I wish they still made some motherboards with that blue colour. Probably wouldn’t match everything else in a modern PC tho
