Unironically, it will make me look with better eyes the Ally X, compared to my Steam Deck.

Smart move for valve

I hope they can make an OS to replace windows. I’m not quite ready to take the Linux plunge. But I mostly game on my pc and am getting real sick of Microsoft.
Help us steamOS you are our only hope.

Even if this doesn’t end up happening, Bazzite has been so nice to use on the Ally X. 20 minute guide, store games on the SD card so they can be used in both steam os and windows. It’s awesome

Imo, if there’s anyone who can challenge Microsoft’s dominance over consumer desktop OSes, it’s Valve. They’ve already managed to largely decouple gaming from its dependence on Windows, at least in the technical sense, if not culturally, but they also have the trust of the gaming community and infinite money glitch to pay for it.
It also makes business sense since Microsoft control over Windows is the only structural weakness of their business model.

I just want a desktop linux distro that will work and I won’t have to spend 10 hours per week on average figuring out how to make things run
valve please make that happen, deck is nice but I want it on PC

With windows turning into shite I hope Valve will double down on Steam OS.

Lowkey valve Linux OS for games, bless. I’ll be ditching Windows faster than Intel tanked itself.

I’d be using arch full time & exclusively if I could run league on it but :/

I am seriously considering installing this over Windows on my new rig
