It depends. Based on Grey’s video log to Ava, she and the others didn’t die until at least 1996, while Terminus and Liberty Falls take place in 1991. So we still have to go through a huge amount of time there, not to mention major events like Ava being conceived, Grey becoming her surrogate mom, etc. However BO6 plays out, I don’t think it will be as simple as people expect.

I’d love to see this ritual actually be the BEGINNING of BO6’s final map, kind of like IX. Rather than just sacrificing themselves for the ritual and dying, maybe the ritual removes their souls and transports them to another realm of some sort to fight the final battle and accomplish the ritual’s purpose? This would give developers infinite freedom to place us in any setting they want, as well as give a tasteful goodbye to the crew we’ll have been building rapport with over the course of the game’s cycle.
