Starting out as one of the mighty of night cities corporate aristocracy, finding pu thow fragile that is, and then building tour way back up outside the system and coming as close as anyone can to tearing it down is pretty cool

Corpo has the best dialog options
Forward_Artist_6244
Yep it has some unique dialogue options
They’re all worth playing, Nomad probably my favourite for the brief glimpse of life outside NCs borders
StayAppropriate2433
Nomad is the best, but all are worth playing once.
mecha_monk
I think nomad and corpo are the best backgrounds, and I wish there was more to the street kid backstory to set the character and introduction to the city. But no dice.
cypowolf
It’s the only story path I’ve ever played lol. And I’ve done 3 playthroughs + 100% completion. I’ve seen elements of the other lifepaths and given the world of cyberpunk and the general story line, I think the corpo lifepath is probably the best one
NoKoala3908
Corpo V and Jackie have a established relationship. Makes things a bit more believable than the instant BFFs they become in the other 2 lifepaths.
Kobalzer
Corpo path has the most unique lifepath dialogue options in the game. It has good lore, flair, and backstory. After 3,800 hours of the game it remains as my most picked path.
JimJimerson90
100% I loved it,although it is the only playthrough I’ve done ha

Here’s a question for those who have done different lifepaths:
As a character, does V feel much different once you’re really in the game depending on background? I understand that past the prologue they’re likely just flavor text options with a few small changes to ways to approach different quests. And I know there obviously isn’t different line readings / complete script overhauls for the three backgrounds. I’ve played femV Nomad twice, a Sandy gunslinger, basically, so I thought a Corpo netrunner next time might be fun. But I wonder–the dialogue feels really Nomad / Street Kid to me in terms of slang, grammar, etc…maybe not really how a high-ranking Corpo would speak. Am I wrong? Do you just…get used to it? Does it work because V is kind of “reduced” to street level after the prologue? I suppose it doesn’t really matter, and I could always play maleV to make it more different regardless. Just wondering how the three Vs might feel like three distinct people, if at all.

Corpo V has some of the best unique dialog options, especially when dealing with other corpo rats.
SpaceTacoTV
idk personally i found it kinda weird because you just end up a streetkid anyway within like 15 minutes. i havent tried nomad yet but streetkid felt the most natural for V if that makes any sense
Haravikk
I did the corpo life-path for my first character because I wanted to be a netrunner.
While it had its moments I was a bit disappointed at just how short the corpo intro section was – you’re corpo for like two minutes then you’re not so it’s time become a merc. It does have the benefit of already being friendly with Jackie though.
However, I really like the corpo dialogue options you get in the game – a lot of them enable you to be *really* rude to people, some characters distrust you more as a former corpo agent which makes it feel a bit more rewarding when they open up later after you’ve proven yourself. And also a fair amount of the unique corpo dialogue on missions seems to let you make encounters easier, because you can just straight up walk into places you’d have to break into somehow otherwise.
Personally I get the impression it’s intended more for a replay than a first time playing the game, as the shorter intro, already being friendly with Jackie start and corpo dialogue seems good for playing again. I kind of wish I’d gone Nomad for a first time playing though.
Cyberpunk890
Corpo is technically the most “cannon” choice. You already have known Jackie for a few years, you have a rep and skills already built up having worked in counter intel, and you now have a personal reason to go after Arasaka in the heist rather than just being another merc trying to get a big score.
Hotepspoison
It’s my least favorite, but it’s still pretty good. I used the life paths as writing prompts and had the hardest time writing corpo V, but that’s probably a me thing lol.
Zequax
only realy matter for prolog and some special voice lines
WardenKane
Corpo is a great path because it really helps the story of V’s transformation into Johnny. To start as this corpo who has everything and loses it, to terrorist is a great path and shows their growth. I personally also love that the rocker boy has to share a brain with the type of person he hates the most.
Beardedgeek72
It’s not worse than the others, but I don’t jive with it personally.
Mokatines
It’s my most recent play through and you know … it’s fine.
Legendofnightcity7
Yes its the best one!
Reach-Nirvana
I’ve played all three and enjoyed the Corpo dialogue the most. I found myself choosing it’s optional dialogue nearly every time compared to streetkid or nomads dialogue options..
05032-MendicantBias
It doesn’t change much, honestly.
You can use corpo speech in a few quests and you have some dialogue options from Hanako.
Hyper_Brick
Once I tried the Corpo-Speechcheck at that reception, I died. That’s not my V. There will be no Karen in this house! Deleted that save.
Gloomy-Fix4436
its the best one.
reddittomarcato
Corpo would be the more interesting link to Silverhand me thinks
Mismanaged_Milennial
It’s my main storyline. I always loved the thought of my V both hating yet still longing for the comforts of the corporate fold. Missing the perks and status, but hating the toxicity and lethal nature.
JackSilver1410
I just started a new game on the corpo life path. A lot of smaller things fit better, like why Vic is willing to just lay top of the line Kiroshi optics on you for only the promise of payment. I like to think that, after so much time swindling and backstabbing just to stay afloat, V goes all out on integrity.
Plus me being a corpo is gonna piss off Johnny Hamfist more and that’s just fine by me.
ihave0idea0
I have tried all of them and Corpo feels the best.
Michaeli_Starky
Corpo is awesome
Overkillsamurai
fall from grace? hell yeah. it’s my fave . i felt Nomad to be kinda bland
Aceylace10
I think the corpo specific dialogue options are better over Nomad and Streetkid ones. Just my opinion.
maddafakkasana
As a Corpo, you can bow at Hanako in Embers and watch Johnny lose his mind in the background.
DSJ-Psyduck
would say its the best with most depth.
GiftFromGlob
I played through all 3 and imho, all 3 are different parts of The Complete V lore.
Started as a Nomad. Met Jackie, got into the street gang life, made a name and got successful, started outsourcing/paying others to do his dirty work then got himself into the Corpo world with dirty money, but it didn’t last long and his house of cards came crumbling down so back to the streets to hide and lick his wounds which is where our story begins.
lennywut82
Definitely, Corpo is my default start. You think you got it made in the corporation but it’s all torn down and you’re back to square one until you meet Panam who introduces you to a new way of life and in the end you run away with a new place to belong to happily ever after even if it may be for 6 months
waywardorbit366
I love the corpo path – it’s a redemption arc!
ZiroZerserus
Yes, the dialogues are excellent, it’s a shame they don’t continue the story that starts in the intro.
And personally, for me, it’s the only live path that makes sense of how terrifyingly efficient you are at killing, because in that origin you’re a former counterintelligence agent for one of the largest corporations.

Honestly I find it the more compelling story.
