Niiice, rip outbreak I will miss carrying to Orda on a car

I hope this means we still get the extra modes of Cranked and Onslaught back since those were also RB

they’re cooking but the question remains… will they burn it

  6. Sharp-Appearance-680

i definitely like round-based better but i also wouldn’t have minded an outbreak mode

good to know before the release.

Now, it will be interesting to see if they’ll actual release a new RB map every season…

Well… that’s an interesting take for sure. You really have to wonder how much stuff they have planned and are in production. The gap between every round-based map release back in the day was roughly 3 months, and each season lasts roughly 2 months or so. So either Treyarch figured out how to make new maps quicker, or we’re looking at a couple seasons of no new maps at all.

  9. While I did like Outbreak when it launched, they fucked it up by focusing on it, doubling down, then tripling down. Now it can probably never come back due to burnout.

What’s with all copious amounts of text strings for Outbreak on the new Warzone map, then? Next years game doesn’t have a studio yet so it’s not for that, and it’s all *new* stuff, not carried over from Cold War.

Is Raven/Beenox responsible for Outbreak this year?

    Thank fuck

I’d rather be shot in the dick by the Panzer’s shock charge than ever play that Outbreak shit ever again

Good, theres been too much doing shit that no one is asking for. Stick to what is good and innovate in that domain.

From a very casual zombies player, this looks so fucking good and fun.

What I take away from this that a support studio like Raven will probably be on an Outbreak type mode. And that’s fine, let Treyarch do what they do best and another studio can please the other crowd

Haven’t been this excited for a cod release since bo3. Treyarch is the best cod dev, no doubt

Imo, Outbreak and modes like that will now be exclusive to non-Treyarch zombie mode, similarly to MW3 last year. Treyarch main games will continue to release round based maps, while the other Cods, which will probably still have a zombie mode developed by Treyarch, will feature something similar to MWZ or Outbreak, which was still successful but definitely safer and easier to regularly update even by other developers, IN THEORY at least. I mean it worked for MW3 at launch, and if SHG actually tried to update the mode past season 2 it would have probably worked for the rest of the year as well.

Wow so this means we might actually be getting a Carti and Uzi collab in this game

I enjoyed Outbreak being a supplement to the round based formula, just not a replacement. I find DMZ to be generally fun, but I didn’t like it being the sole zombies experience. They could have sectioned parts from that map to be individual round based maps. It wouldn’t have been ideal, but it would have been something for those of us that preferred rounds.

ā€œRound based zombiesā€ still feels so vague. I don’t want Cold War’s system where playing zombies was easier than playing tic tac toe, if we could have genuine gameplay shake ups like a perk limit (that could possibly account for solo play by somehow reducing the reliance on quick revive and juggernog) and other stuff that makes it genuinely difficult, then this will be a good mode.

Also, the less maps based on campaign missions, the better. And let’s bring back a mystery box that is genuinely interesting, and reduce the reliance on weapon tiers and upgrades. All that stuff was cool in BOCW, but I feel like it reduced the replayability of those maps tremendously. Due to how easy BOCW is, getting to higher rounds can be incredibly boring because you’re already set up and ready by round 15.

As it should be, I just hope it’s good

I’d imagine they will keep MWZ running through 2025 like they did with DMZ so it’s the open world zombies mode. But they are going to remove any progression from the battle pass like they also did with DMZ.
