I used to play CS:GO casually when I bought it it in 2018, I barely played competitive. Just before CS2 released I began playing more competitively, When CS2 released I started playing more, and honestly at first I was excited to try out the new game with redone maps and a new engine, but soon enough I realised that this game lacks a lot of content that cs:go had. At the end of the day I played more CS2 than CS:GO, and I have fun when I play, cheaters are not much of a problem, probably since I'm not high rank.

As shit, if not worse than when it released because now they’ve had a year and it’s no longer ‘just released’ or ‘let them cook’.
However, I still believe the game will be better than GO in like 3 years. They shouldn’t have removed GO.
Beta state of a game with too many issues for me to really enjoy it the way I did enjoy GO.
The new smokes are great, the visual upgrade is very welcome, the quality of life features like the smoke cam/ big crosshair for util etc are very welcome but the game feels lackluster. Moving, shooting, jumping, crouch jumping on things are not great.
You still die behind walls, run and gun with rifles works, sub tick does not work as advertised I would say and the lack of new content as well as legacy content from GO is just lazy.

The cheating situation is far worse than it was in GO for some reason. Fix that and optimise performance and you’ve got a great game. I now only play FACEIT which sucks since it’s sweaty and even with my decent PC I’m only getting 250fps and dips down to 190 regularly…

Smokes and visuals are better and there’s some neat new features/settings to try out, buts that’s pretty much it
IMO subtick isn’t working well enough at the moment. I highly preferred CSGO 64 tick over the current rubber banding when shot and getting killed behind walls multiple times in a match
I think for the most part, people would have been fine with CS2 IF is didn’t delete CSGO for ever.
CS2 IS a great game, it’s the same addicting stuff we all love, but it’s NOT at the level that it needs to be. For this game to work as it should then 9/10 isn’t good enough. CS NEEDS to be perfect or it doesn’t work.

No love lost between me and GO honestly. CS2 has issues but I’m enjoying CS2 a lot more than I probably ever enjoyed GO. I played GO since beta also but I do not feel nostalgic for GO at all for whatever reason.
The scene and the game itself were getting really stale by the end. At relatively higher levels of play (like faceit 10 which is where I’m at) the gameplay of GO revolved a lot around one-way smokes which was super fucking boring to me. It was neat when they started to become a thing but by the end of GO it was unbearable. I basically dropped GO completely the instant I got a beta invite to CS2 and never even thought about looking back.
My opinion is this: I was getting bored of GO and thought about selling my skins and uninstalling, CS2 remotivated me and I have a lot of fun playing it. I’m completely unaffected by most of the issues people complain about though. For example, I wouldn’t know that rubberbanding/teleporting when shot is a thing if I hadn’t seen it on Reddit. The game runs smooth as silk on my pc.
I mean my playtime went from 2-3h a day to 2-3 matches a month…it’s almost dead for me and only cope is binding me

Unoptimized, way less content than before. Sometimes the game runs smooth with decent hitreg, othertimes it feels like my mouse is sluggish and the game generally feels clunky with no idea of what’s causing the discrepancy.

I actually feel like its dying and I’ve never felt that way about CounterStrike. Yesterday saw the video on Loba his youtube and I started crying while laughing. It’s a complete shitshow that a 5 euro cheat can tell who’s cheating in the fucking lobby(!!?) and a billion dollar company can’t. Lack on any official communication also hurts. Atleast let your shrinking player base know what the fuck is going on.
Premier rating doesn’t make sense, I’ve won 9 out of my past 15 games and I’ve lost 200 rating.
I didn’t even lose more than twice in a row and I’m still losing more than I gain.

Embarrassingly poor. The game feels so bad to play. So many bugs and glitches and unpolished “features”. Getting rubberbanded back constantly and watching your bullets disappear into thin air. Kills being registered a full second or more after they happen. Subtick is NOT “what you see is what you get”. Hey, at least it looks slightly nicer than CSGO. It was totally worth sacrificing gameplay and a ton of features and maps for a small upgrade in visuals.
They could have continued working on CS2 behind the scenes instead of plopping out a half-finished turd. I guess they released the game knowing the player base isn’t and wasn’t going anywhere. They know us idiots are going to keep playing the game regardless of how awful it is.
I get about 100 fps less than I did when it first came out. Honestly apart from the added content the base game feels much worse than it did at release to me.
Feels like it was made by employees that make millions a year in salary. Bare minimum and no reason to work to hard. Subtick is a joke within itself.
God awful. What a terrible end to a long time hobby of mine. I can’t pick up another fps because of how pivotal CSGO was for me. This is, like everything else, favor visuals vs consistency.

While I think most people here are wildly exaggerating how bad it is, at this point it just feels neglected again.
I think a fitting way to put it is that I can’t wait for the 1 year anniversary to be celebrated with a tweet by the official CS account and nothing else.
Imo the game right now is in a playable state, but just nowhere near the improvement over GO all of us were hoping for/expecting.
The game is dogshit.
The gameplay issues basically broke my addiction to CS. I’ve played regularly since 1.4, and one of the main reasons I’ve loved it is because of it’s consistency. Played a TON of CS:GO (5000+ hours), but I think I’ve played maybe 20 total matches since CS2 came out. I’ll play around in pubs every once in a while but that’s about it. Just my personal experience.

After 10k hours of CS:GO and almost 1 year inactivity since CS2 release, I finally tried it out recently and.. daamn.. the delay in everything is so bad. I’m afraid most people have gotten used to it by now, but it’s a big problem.
This whole subtick system seems so flawed and unoptimized.
