Majority of cases is 14900k. Many used 13900k for nearly 2 years without issues until few weeks ago? f weird if you ask me. very suspicious.
It’s very weird 14900k runs now as default bios at 1.5v which is too high. it should be between 1.2-1.4v.

I think this is a rare chance to pick up a high end Intel CPU for a cheaper price… I don’t “cheer” for companies to implode, I always want aggressive competition, but the only positive aspect of this whole circus is just that, Intel will be forced to cut off prices of all their stuff

I love my 7800x3d. They’ve been cooking with their graphics drivers for my 5700xt lately too
Got my first AMD cpu back in 2019 (3600x) and driving AMD to this day (5800x3d), I can’t believe that they still supporting AM4.
Still on my 6700k, will build with 7800x3d next year

I have another build with a 12th gen i9. I believe the 12th gen aren’t affected so I’ll be swapping it over to my main PC tomorrow, been having issues lately but in the future I’ll be moving to AMD, I have the Asus Rog Ally and it runs an AMD Z1 extreme processor and it’s a pretty powerful chip for a handheld PC, I’ve been impressed with AMD lately I’ll be making the switch soon.
Yeah I have a intel build but I think I’ll definitely go full AMD on the next one.
I don’t need the boundaries to be pushed resulting in this CPU issues. just give me a stable good enough gaming chip and happy gamer.
Mistakes happen. It’s only if the mistake is due to negligence (e.g. Crowdstrike) I really judge it for the mistake itself happening. I can’t tell whether Intel’s issue was due to negligence, they are too opaque.
What I always judge a company for however is their response to a mistake. That’s something that’s fully in their control. A good response to a mistake can even cause the entire situation to be a positive in my book because that means that when another mistake happens I am more likely to get another good response. I have been pretty disappointed with Intel’s response to this entire debacle.

Is it worth upgrading from a 10700k to a 7800X3D at the moment? Been thinking a lot about it this week.
I’ve been using a 10700k for a few years and it’s pretty amazing. even still. new parts arriving any day now to build a new machine. i9 12900k. should get a few years out of that one too.
who knows what will be the best upgrade when the time comes. but it won’t be until there are 32 core cpu’s so that should be interesting.
My first AMD CPU was a budget Duron and then I moved onto an Athlon 64. I stopped PC gaming for a while but I was glad AMD was back from their dark ages and my first PC build after a long hiatus was using AMD again.
I’m never going to support Intel after they used their monopolistic tactics to keep AMD from being profitable and almost bankrupting the company.
Sorry, but I don’t understand any sort of brand loyalty for multi million dollar companies. I want good competition, good products, good customer service and a product that fits my need.

I’ve got a i7-12700K that is still meeting my needs pretty well. If I was buying today I would probably get an AMD, but I am not… When times comes for an upgrade will see who is were as far as options go.
I wouldn’t personally be rushing out to get a ryzen 9000 cpu until they’ve been out awhile and make sure they also don’t start having problems.
Things do look rather grim for intel at the minute however.

I was going to build a PC for my lil bro on Intel to test performance, compare benchmarks, etc, but after this we will avoid Intel at home like a plague, until they get their shit together, I grew up with Intel PCs, had 0 issues.
Haven’t bought an intel since their 7th gen, Kaby Lake, and glad I avoided Intel. I was curious about Team Blue since I was getting Ryzen fatigued, I wanted my next system to be Intel based purely from an IPC workload point of view.
Ryzens are fast but they never felt “snappy” like the Intel of Skylake and Kabylake did compared to their previous gen. Even my old mobile Intel machines feel snappier than my Ryzen desktop at times.
Watching the way Intel is handling their 13th and 14th gen failure, there’s no confidence in trusting them to honor their commitment to not sell you a bogus or faulty product.
