Since brexit, the UK adopted GDPR rules as their own. The question is whether or not those adopted rules were modified in some way to allow this to happen. If not then anyone in the UK should report this to their local MP.

Not only unacceptable… They need to store cookies to inform the browser that you paid, so you actually pay for something that you won’t get either.
Has been like this for a bit on different sites, and IIRC it is currently a loophole that is allowed in the EU.
edit: as far as I know the UK still has a GDPR like rule, they haven’t changed it (yet)

I know you can disable 3pc cookies in browsers now, would be cool if FF added a scramble option. Something that allows setting the cookies but ultimately makes them meaningless.
