When I was younger I had a terrible Alienware GTX 960 prebuilt, it was terrible but it was the PC I had the most fun on when gaming -it broke and I didn’t bother fixing it. Few years later I saved-up and decided to build my dream PC and battlestation. After months of research, watching videos on building PCs, reviews of parts etc, I finally built the machine of my dreams and a nice rig around it. Turned it on, downloaded a few games I played in the past like TF2, Yakuza 0, Witcher 3 and got some new games like BG3, played them for maybe a few hours all together, got bored and quit. Gaming nowadays is so boring from what I remember it to be and to make matters worse, I’ve got an overpowered PC which I don’t use that much. Honestly the researching part and waiting for the parts to arrive was the most fun for me, hated building the PC and didn’t enjoy what I built it for -gaming. Safe to say I took a big L, don’t be like me 🤣

Eh you’ll find a use for it, probably for gaming. Witcher wasn’t all that interesting tbh, like the story was fine but the gameplay was mediocre imo. It seems like it’s mainly loved for its graphics (similar to Cyberpunk), which is unfortunate.
Maybe you just like different genres now
You could also try installing Linux on it and make computing fun again
Don’t worry, it’ll come back and when you’re ready you have a beefy setup to play games again.
Same here upgraded to a 4090 and 32” 4k oled and instantly bored no matter what I play for some reason 😂

It’s maybe because the cost was too high. If it’s the case, now you need to swallow the thing that it cost you a lot, for sure.
Was it worth it? Maybe you think not and maybe you could do something else with that money…
But honnestly, you did a good choice because your computer is futureproof for the next big games, and you can now play most of the games in max settings, enjoying the true PC experience and since you will spend A LOT of time on it, it’s always worth it.
Some people save 10 times the money that you put in your computer for a brand new car, just to drive 20 mins to go to work… So no regret, you did the good choice pal
It did the same to me when I got my new setup and when I played to recent games that only high end PC could drive, I quickly changed my mind and get my mojo back
Just play Cyberpunk and Starfield at full settings, it will come back slowly

You’re not alone bro, when we were kids my 7 year older brother would alwaaaaaays play with our crappy PCs; and when I was a teenager and he started working and getting money he built himself a crazy watercooled PC, but I clearly remember him trying to play again and not having such a great time. He stopped playing altogether and gave his crazy PC to my little brother haha. He then bought a bike and now rides everyday; just find what you like, people change !

There’s a lot of awesome stuff outside of gaming that you can use your PC for that will definitely utilise its potential, like 3D modelling. I used to game a lot, got a beefy PC and now don’t game nearly as much but use it for other stuff that need the resources.
Use your rig to build a massive factory in Factorio
hold onto it and keep it in good shape, when the yearning to play comes back you’ll have a rig that will healthily being playing new releases for at least 5 years, lol.
You need to list out all genres of games and find at least two games within each genre, then play various games of different genres on a daily basis rather than just a single game.

Almost same experience for me too, even tho my pc is half your price I enjoyed theory crafting and buying parts quite alot, building itself was meh experience and for gaming…Im glad I found some games I really enjoy like BG3, Elden ring, Cyberpunk with dlc especially, other games were kinda meh, so Im alot more picky now.
Perhaps you’re stuck in the past. There are still amazing games being produced! Don’t look at what the Big companies are making nowadays.. It’s all downgraded from what they used to produce. Indie is the way nowadays! They be one man armies producing games the quality of AAA companies.

Gaming is not as fun when you play on max settings with an overpowered rig. Gaming on an old pc or an old ps is so much more fun

Try one of Minecraft hardest mod pack rlcraft with added some tech mods and avaritia mod with crazy rtx shaders
It happened to me to a lesser degree (I bought a cheap mid tier rig and still enjoy playing). I found out that playing big AAA titles was the problem for me, long games with lots of grinding, which I used to enjoy, are such a bore and don’t tickle the itch anymore. Now I enjoy smaller indies titles for the most part. My love for adventure games is still strong, and discovered rally racing with Dirt Rally 2 (and Forza Horizon is a fun arcade racer). But I don’t play more than 2-4h week. And helps if you set a scheduled time to play and commit to it, to build anticipation and to not give yourself time to get bored while playing.
Have you tried cyberpunk 2077? IMO an awesome and engaging game, gameplay is fun and hectic and the story is good, + it’s pretty immersive.
VR rejuvenated my love of gaming with new immersion, interfaces and experiences.
