Vote with your dollar. Don’t buy a shitty unoptimized game. The 3060 Ti is plenty capable of playing other modern, demanding games just fine, especially at 1080p.
Zyphonix_
Nah, it just screams unoptimized slop.
Prize_tramp71
Rendering at 720p is crazy.
This is just another Ubisoft moment
Medwynd
We wouldnt have this problem if it was a AAAA game /s
Necessary-Fun8615
We’re practically at the cusp of photorealism, at this point it’s the developers job to not need a 4090 for 1080p 60+fps on ultra
Medical_Long_6969
3060 for 720p goood daaaamn 🥲 im still rocking a 1050ti 😂
SynthRogue
At this point the whole GPU business is a scam. They make them underpowered to start with and devs keep making games that no modern hardware can run well. Forcing you to think that maybe spending another £2000 on the latest GPU will solve the issue. It won’t. I’ve stopped playing that game since last gen. I’m done wasting my money.
Aware_Amphibian2128
>Ubisoft game
Yeah youre not missing out on anything not buying it anyway
OverlordFanNUMBER1
Nah just for games that are very poorly made
octatone
Not a GPU problem. This is a lazy dev/company problem.
SteelyEyedHistory
And this is why you don’t preorder
Pandanutiy
More like companies don’t invest resources in game optimisation because of upscalers. 3060ti is fine even for 1440p 90fps+ in a lot of gorgeous games that are made properly
Diegolobox
from what I’ve seen the game graphically looks like it came out in 2016
PrinnyFriend
The game looks like crap….how can it look worse than Black Flag and literally needs to run at 720p to be playable?
ThisIsNotMyPornVideo
GPU’s dont age fast.
Large studios simply push out slob on the back of IP’s they have the right too
TheGiantMetalMan
Like others said, the game isn’t optimized at all. What a joke lmao
Lolle9999
I wish devs thought about the cost effectiveness of graphical effects when adding them to games.
Dev – I want to add x effect to game, it costs 30% in performance and increases looks by 2%, add it and tell gamers to use dlss or buy a better gpu instead lol.
Devs won’t make every sound in the game lossless and of highest quality since it would make the game way too big and run bad, then why not use that logic to everything else?
Instead of putting some effort into making good looking lighting in games they just use raytraced lighting instead as it looks good as is (even though you can get it to look great without rt), then partner up with Nvidia and make some rt vs non rt vids on youtube and since the difference is drastic in their game people feel even more inclined to buy a new gpu.
I am very black pilled on the gaming scene atm.
Stig783
No it’s just poor optimisation from Ubisoft. Developers now rely too much on dlss, fsr and frame gen to improve fps in games.
BMXBikr
Please don’t but this or Assassin’s Creed

The RTX 3060 Ti is over three and half years old. It was released in December 2020 at a price of $399 (though you wouldn’t find one at that price). It runs slightly better, not much, than an RTX 2080 which is *six* years old. Or slightly better than an RTX 4060, which was a near-universal “Jesus Christ Nvidia, what the fuck is this thing?”
We’re getting more longevity from GPU models than we ever have! When I bought a Radeon 9700 in 2003, it was *the king*. Nothing beat it except its own Pro model, which was a very small overclock ahead. Three years later, Oblivion dropped and the 9700 could barely do that at 1024×768, and it had to be dropped to Medium to handle it. Three years was extending the life of a GPU just too far, you’d upgrade usually after 18 months, maybe two years.
I know it’s fashionable to screech “UnOpTiMiZeD” when the next game with high requirements drops, but games are doing more with your hardware than they ever have and squeezing every last drop of performance out of hardware so old it should be going to school by now. You want raytracing, with or without BVH acceleration (hardware RT isn’t even remotely the only RT game engines are doing), you want global illumination, high resolution shadow volumes, detailed geometries and textures. I swear some of you guys completely forgot Crysis was ever a thing, nor that it’s 17 years old.
You also want the games big, complex, and bug-free, meaning the engine has to be easy to develop for, easy to unit-test, but still support the latest and most modern features. At a big publisher, game designers don’t work on engines, and engine designers don’t work on games. The whines about optimisations are completely outside the game designers’ area. This is why CDPR isn’t going ahead with Red Engine 5, despite what it was capable of, it distracted over half the studio on reinventing Unreal Engine 5. That’s half the studio who weren’t making, teesting, fixing, and QAing game content, and if you played Cyberpunk 2077 on launch, you were wishing they had been doing all that.
CurryLikesGaming
And here I am just recently upgraded to 3060ti and calling it powerful. Guess I’ll never catch up to everyone, gonna play good old games instead since I get way better visuals and performance on those.
irontherapy1993
Ubisoft really are ruthless 😂😂 720p how many joints do I have to smoke to find that pleasing lol
--InZane--
I honestly feel like games just become less and less optimised.
I had my GTX1060 for 5 years before I had to set a game to medium instead of ultra (Cyberpunk 2077).
Same with my GTX760.
I have the RTX3060Ti for a year now and while I haven’t found a game I couldn’t run on ultra (1080p) yet I have to say the jump from 1060 to 3060ti was smaller than I expected
hamid1103
It’s just the state of game development and deva not being given the time to optimize the game.
kukuru97
Nah, devs are just too lazy to optimize the games
paul1234568
They don’t rush the games, they simply don’t allocate resources to optimize games since GPUs are so powerful they can get away with it.
They thank the rapid development of hardware, they save millions of dollars skipping an important part of the development process.
They just like money.
Legacy-ZA
I blame GPU manufacturers; selling overpriced turds that cannot even last one generation.
Primary_Jellyfish327
720p lmao
Vegetablegardener
Radeon RX 580, I have no fucking clue what you’re on about mate.
You have 30 years of games behind you, it’s only aging fast because you chase the new hot thing, and they tax your ass accordingly.
dogehousesonthemoon
game doesn’t even look good…
ParaadoxStreams
Ubisoft speed running bankruptcy.

Bait post.
The article talks about 3060ti being needed for **high preset** at 1080p60 (rendered from 720p via reconstruction). This doesn’t sound too far off base for a modern open world game with realtime lighting and RT-first development. Also, the snowdrop engine is very capable and can be highly optimized. (See Avatar)
That’s not to say that it won’t be badly optimized. It very well might be. There have been some talk about issues (based on pre-release demos), but concluding it must be badly optimized based on this headline (or at all at this point) is stupid.
You shouldn’t be preordering any game these days anyways, so why not just wait for it to come out before shitting on it.
cagedpegasus
I’ve gotten downvoted anytime I’ve predicted the performance would be garbage on all platforms. It’s like people purposely ignore the horrible track records of these companies. Don’t worry tho, Wukong drops on the 20th, and that looks downright incredible. Performance, gameplay, voices, environment, all top notch. Was very smart to port it to PC at release
Derp800
The game looks like it’s from 6 years ago. Fuck these game studios, man. Fuck them all. Let them burn all their cash on games that fail so they go out of business.
Alternative-Appeal43
Fuck Ubisoft and fuck this game.
Catboyhotline
GPUs aren’t aging, shareholders just want the money NOW without giving devs the chance to optimise. In a world without shareholders even something like the rx580 would still be more than capable (I still have one and have no plans on upgrading anytime soon because I don’t play AAA games)
Prus1s
Alright, I’ll go back to playing Shadow of War then 👀 fuck that shit
