Will wait to see the details of it but if it’s a proper step to respect and help their effected customers then it’s a good step in the right direction.

This is great news. I wish they could have been quicker with this response and can get a team organized to find quick resolutions to people with down systems asap.
So the boss at Intel let these defective chips into the market… and now it is being admitted.
Honesty is good. Sure, sure. Admitting a fuck up is good. Rare even. But it’s not enough. What is the plan to “fix” This?
are the 15th gen chips going to be safe? have they announced anything to do with that?
Looking at buying a new pc soon, but can’t really afford to get fucked with dodgy chips.
Do we know what percentage of these chips are failing. Maybe an extended warrant is good enough? Not sure if a 2 year extension is enough tho…

Intel has all the data about user upgrade frequency, I think this +2 years warranty will catch most of the Intel users.
Bets on 15th gen also having this warranty for PR.

3 years too few. Cover laptops too.
Thats the only way i’d trust buying an Intel product again, any time soon.

Microcode isn’t going to fix shit, only hide/delay it. These CPUs are defective from the box.

Head to google and start looking for people who in the past two years have been looking for help on tech support forums, Reddit and such. Just pick random ones regarding crashing, BSODs, search for some of these APIC IDs, and you’ll see that gee, this sure does happen a lot with these same fucking cores.
Look at these APIC IDs, these IDs are tied to cores. The same cores. The same behaviour. Intel has been quietly RMAing these since the launch of Raptor Lake.
Trying to get someone with resources who can help with this or at least get some eyes from those who can dig deeper and aggregate the data. Voltage doesn’t just pick specific cores to damage and spare others.
