When you have to start fabricating your chips at TSMC to compete – you don’t need staff at your existing fabs.
Stopped dividend (can’t pay out money you don’t have). already admitted continued datacenter loss to AMD and ARM until at least late 2025. No real clients using your foundry, which makes less and less of your own chips now. ARM has entered client computing (desktop/laptop) and AMD is rising like never before to be serious competition and next year is even more bloody. Intel gaudi is dead in the water, AI silicon is 95% Nvidia 4% AMD 1% other.
Culture shift at intel ten years ago is catching up.

As much as Intel deserves this beat down, I hope it doesn’t make them abandon their gpu department. Arc is actually now in a really good spot driver wise. An ARC a750 for under $200 is not a bad buy.
