So I'm trying to just install Bo3 up I'm having a couple major issues.

  1. While I'm installing it's constantly starting and stopping.
  2. The amount it's downloading from the disc and network is changing a lot, going down from ~45-46 GB to anywhere from ~39 to ~19 GB.
  3. Whenever I try to pause the installation it freezes, not the console but the queue.
  4. When I try to go into the game to select which mode for it to install first. It freezes ONLY if I choose the campaign. And Additionally it always installs the zombies first

This is a fresh install of the Xbox 1 version on the Xbox 1 with a fresh disc that I've only used 1 other time on the same exact console, and no this isn't an issue with my internet, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the digital version of CW and that worked fine. I've made sure to remove all previous data before installing. I don't know if these are new because I can't remember what happened last time when I installed it. I can boot up the game in the "READY TO START" thing but it only has zombies and free run

I have a 2 theories for why this is happening.
1. The disc itself has a factory issue/Issue that happened while in the Xbox.
As you can hopefully see in the images part of the inner most part of the reflective whatever has a mistake on it, it could be majorly interfering with the installation.
2. An internal problem with the xbox itself could also be causing this, maybe the laser is somehow broken and or misaligned. My console has taken a few bumps before due to my set up (outlets in my room do not work so I have to run an extension cable into my room and plug a surge protector strip into to it.

I had the same problem a few weeks back trying to install bo3. It would stop my installation halfway through and tell me that my disk was scratched or dirty. The way I fixed it was I cancelled the install, and I went to the Microsoft store and installed it from there. For some reason when you install from the Microsoft store, it’ll install the whole game all together instead of downloading the disc data and network separately. It worked and it installed all the way. I’ve used this method on a couple of other games as well.
