Look on the bright side, now he has no reason to limit his fps to anything below 1000.

You need to reinstall the video card drivers.

Imagine you’re in 2030 or beyond. Will this be the refresh rate? lol

Try updating the GPU driver. If the driver is up-to-date, remove it and install it again.

I still dream of the days where A: I have a graphics card and screen that runs/ displays 1000Hz and B: it becomes the norm for everyone else.

I’ve always aimed for as many frames as possible without sacrificing too much graphical fidelity and thankfully due to saving for a while, I play 1080@240 and 2160@120.

It really is tiring arguing or debating the 60Hz gang. Until they know, they just don’t actually know.

You need a video driver in order to fix the said issue.

Jokes aside, this means the display driver is not installed and your pc is using the generic Mircrosoft Basic driver

Generic windows graphic drivers, so that you can install your own drivers be in NVIDIA, AMD OR INTEL.

Did he format the Windows drive before reinstalling Windows? Tell him to format first and then reinstall Windows.
