You just described trophies for multiple endings in Soulsborne games.

Real talk, how many people have played Elden Ring *six* times, and gotten a different ending each time. I know a lot of you keep going back to the the doll with the Pringles can.

Shoutout to the kill count achievement in Hotline Miami 2, or the Bot Killing achievement in TF2.

OSRS collection log, maybe someday someone will complete it!

Games should definitely have additional achievement tiers. Like I am fine with just completing the bare minimum achievements, but please lump the crazy ones in a different category, cause the “easy-medium-hard” isn’t cutting it anymore. Literally make a “if-you-value-your-sanity-then-don’t-force-yourself-to-complete-this” difficulty scale because some people will really force themselves to 100% a game because they think they can(no, they can’t).

And this is why I don’t even attempt to platinum most games.

  7. Gears of War having achievements for killing 100 people in ranked matches for each individual weapon for 900 ranked kills, minimum.

Which would be bad if there wasn’t an achievement for killing 10,000 people in ranked matches.

Then Gears 2 has kill 100,000 enemies and play 1,999 multi-player matches.

And finally we have Gears 3 with “Get every Onyx medal” which includes the subtasks of : Playing in 30 special timed events, play 4,000 matches, win 3,000 matches, 6,000 heavy kills, explosive kills, and executions and *60* other medals that are for anything you can conceive of being in the game.

This is an ingame trophy rather than an achivement, but PAYDAY 2 gave you a statue for getting 658893 kills (which was the entire population of DC at some point). I played on and off for 10 years and I don’t think I’m halfway done.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, I was trying to 100% the game but I was loosing my mind with some of the side quests and mini games.

    …you guys know achievements aren’t naturally occurring…right?

Geez, I thought it was bad to get all the figments in Psychonauts 1 back in the day (the first game I ever got 100% on).

i love 100%ing games (or at least getting all the main game collectibles). my pet peeve is when the game is glitched and you can’t get em all! midnight suns on ps5 for me

The last achievement I needed in Skyrim was killing a legendary dragon. I work 50 hours a week so there was no way I was grinding to level 75 in less than 6 months. I may have used a cute lil console command and killed the dragon at level 50 and it still gave it to me so 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Leve achievements in Final Fantasy XIV.

Complete 5000 Crafting, Gathering, and Combat leves plus 500 leves for each of the three grand companies. For a total of 16,500 leves to get all of the achievements. You get 3 allowances to pick up leves every 12 real world hours. You can only hold 100 allowances at a time.

This grind is 7.5 years long and you need to check in on it approximately every 16 days. This is also ignoring the unique leve achievements which requires you do some or all of the 15 large leves per 12 categories. These large leves cost 10 allowances and only reward 1 completion credit which puts you about 270 days behind schedule.

So it’s an 8.5 year long grind in a game that’s 11 years old next month
