That laptop will probably still work in another 20 years.

Crysis? Does it have a TURBO button?
Occasionally I would go to Youtube just to hear the Windows 98 SE startup sound. Still enjoy it to this day!

Better load up C&C and protect the free world from the Brotherhood of Nod with that beast.

Super cool! I would install a cheap SSD and see how it runs. Search internet archive for programs. MusicMatch Jukebox would be a must for me.

16MB of RAM is a little small. You could probably get at least 32MB in there. An SSD would be good too to replace the dubiously reliable 1.5GB HDD, whether on a SATA to IDE adapter (might not work if it’s >64GB), a Compact Flash card, or a real IDE SSD, which does exist.
You’ve got a few options:
1. Keep the period correct Windows 95, and play old games bare metal. You have a mouse, but the LCD probably isn’t great when it comes to ghosting.
2. Install another period correct OS, whether super early Linux, BeOS, OpenSTEP, or something else.
3. Install a modern OS. The Pentium 120MHz is i586, so software built for i686 won’t work. NetBSD 10.0 or Gentoo/x86 will fit the bill. You really want to get the system online if you go this route, though. You’ll definitely want the RAM upgrade in this case, especially if you want to run X.org.

Its a steal for sure judging by its conditions. Congrats.
This is a good deal. I bet the system will be active for a couple of years as long as it is well managed.

The condition is gorgeous, for twenty this is a wonderful purchase, congratulations! What about the battery—is it dead or still showing signs of life? I’m curious if anyone has used this laptop at all or if it’s brand new out of the box. There are no visible signs of wear at all…
