Its seems to be a poorly upgraded build, they are really old compoments (that gpu is the oldest part) and some are completly overpowered when you look at the config.
I didn’t powered it because im scared of it, im going to rebuild it first so because i didn’t power it i can check at the complete systhem config.
Mb: MSI GAMING G Z97 (it have some weird stains and is missing a screw on the vram cooler)
16×4 ddr3 ram.
Intel cpu (i didn’t remove the thermal paste because its recent)
Asus 2gb GPU (im going to put another Asus one and sli bridge them.
750W CM PSU (why?)
500gb (secondary?) hdd
250gb (main?) SSD
PS: The flesh you see at the bottom are my fingers, sorry

Let me guess, it was overheating?

Wear a mask while cleaning this “specimen”. Don’t risk getting ill breathing any of that nastiness.

This is why, at the shop I used to work at, the first thing that was ever done to any computer that came in, before anything else, and was itemized as part of the diagnosis fee, was the $20 dust removal which involved it going out on an old barstool on the deck out back under the awning to meet the air compressor.
This fee was waivable if they brought us clean computers. The repeat customers learned to do so which made everyone happier. Especially when they read their invoice and saw that the diagnosis was often “overheating due to dust congestion”. And the issues usually went away with basic maintenance.

Unless there’s like REALLY good stuff in there, it’s not going to be worth it.
With THAT MUCH smoke/dust You’re likely in for disassembling all the parts, and tossing out those that you can’t (like Mobo and PSU and maybe even fans)
And having to deep clean the rest otherwise your pc will smell like smoke 24/7 especially each time you turn it on.
And even then depending on how old this hardware is, or rather how long it’s been “soaking” you’re not likely to get it all out

honestly, this isn’t that bad. especially given the age. a pencil and a blower would do 90% of the work.
wear gloves, maybe a mask, and take it outside. i like to use paint brushes to knock the clingers loose.
give it a blow job like it’s never seen before.

I’ve seen worse when I used to run a computer shop. This is your average Tuesday.

I recently got a free PC given to me in an old white CM Storm Scout 2 case. The entire inside of the PC had a layer of yellow grime, I assume from smoking.
Managed to clean it up pretty good surprisingly, but it was nasty.

You have a little bit of pc in your dust

When I was working for the geek squad we had someone bring in their tower that was caked with tar from smoking. We refused service because it is a biohazard!
