Go AMD or stick with your old GPUs. There aren’t many good games out there anyway. They are unoptimized cash-grabs. Play older games instead. Stop being a slave to Hyper-Consumerism whenever a new GPU generation is released and pay for overpriced GPUs.

I play the same games I play over the years with my GPU now. If I am upgrading, I am upgrading for fun of it. That’s me though.
There aren’t many good games out there? My steam account begs to differ.
I will be upgrading to 60 series.
how about i do what i want with my money?
No I always need the best. I’ll be buying the 5090 when it comes out and then bolting a custom water block with external voltage mod for 5 more fps.
The worst part is that the 5000 series probably would be even less of an improvement than the 4000 series.
Nah fam, get your bigass card and be happy. It’ll last you for years.
I will only buy nvidia. But i want everyone else to buy amd for good competition.
I think they pretty much said, “hey this new GPU architecture is going to be like 95% dedicated to server cards and you gamers will get the scraps”. Which works out for Nvidia because they’ll get to sell cards at incredibly marked up prices just so the people buying them can say they technically own the fastest card out there.

It’s amazing how people dare to care about people’s purchasing decisions.

That’s wrong but ok.
The cycle continues. Person believes their PC is god tier, new game comes out that pushes the boundaries and makes them consider upgrading, that game is called an unoptimized mess.
If 5000 series will be similar priced to this one it may not be as bad.
I have a 4090 and NO game really uses 100% of the card, most hang around 60% usage.
Playing VR on Quest3, my 3080 Ti is struggling to keep up with games if I want to use full resolution even with just 72 fps. Hopefully 5000 series will offer something with an acceptable price/value that is a meaningful upgrade.
“GO AMD” No thank you, never again.
AMD fanboys be like a minority online, but the minority tends to be the loudest.
Reality check: In the real world nobody fing cares about radeon gpus, saving 80-120 dolars on a 7900xtx instead of the 4080 super is not worth it at all, the amount of amd shennenigans that comes with the radeon gpus is still real, look at the latest driver alone, the stutter simulator.
I had my fair share with radeon, has did 3 of my friends, im never buying radeon gpus again.
Now do your work reddit, burry me with downvotes, could not care less.
No.
I jump always 2-3 generations. Just upgradet from a 1080ti to 4080 6 months ago. Call me when 6080 or 7080 is around…
I’ll happily skip RTX 5000 series and then complain about how overpriced the RTX 6000 series is in 2 years. 👌
Nah, im waiting for a good amd igpu, hoping 890m will satisfy my needs
I love this post because it’s so true
Why speculate when you can just wait and see.
Let’s see games are great these days unless all you play is the latest triple A garbage, and if that’s you well you have no one else to blame but yourself.
Secondly, I’m going to buy whatever the fuck I want, and it’s none of your business.
Last, and I can’t stress enough, go fuck yourself. “reject hyper-consumerism … BUY AMD!” what a joke.
Ok but if you are wanting to upgrade to a 4090 right now it makes 0 sense. If you wait a few months you could get a 5080 for cheaper and it will outperform it.
You are talking to a brick wall buddy. Sadly some people just have more available finances than working brain cells. They call themselves “the target audience”, but we all know the more accurate term would be a “useful idiot”. But it is what it is. They don’t look at things from the perspective of others, how their decisions might ruin things for other people. Sure, i could afford any GPU i wan’t, doesn’t mean i should. I got a 4080 Super, and even that feels like i paid too much for it. Good card though.
Let’s see how many triggered little fanboys this gets 🙂
