i've gone into multiple matches and have done hipfire kills/ tac stance with shotguns but it hasn't been counting. when i exfil and go back into the lobby there is no progress. i'll start up a new match do the lil missions or whatever and when i check my progress mid game there is NOTHING
is it bugged out or something ?

It’s bugged because the challenges are from the Season 4 Battle Pass challenge sector. Somehow, you still have them tracked, but they won’t progress anymore.
