Running the game at 2k ultra settings at steady 40 fps without any drops with a VRR display, and no upscaler. Man this game is beautiful. RX 6600 / i3 12100f / 16Gb RAM

Glad you’re enjoying it, but personally I would choose lower visual quality for more frames any day of the week.

  2. Careless-Midnight-63

Jeez turn down some settings or enable upscaling, 40 fps is awful

The Horizon games are some of the most beautiful games I have played, it is criminal how underrated Horizon Zero Dawn is.

Wuuuuuut, RX 6600?! That’s awesome and very well optimized, means the 1080Ti and 3060Ti on my shelf should be able to run this at 1440p Ultra w/ 60-70~ fps perhaps? Considering the 6600 is equal to the V64 and normal 1080? :p

  5. But in most cases VRR doesn’t work below 48 hz

Thats good but dlss can give you a lot more frames for even a better image quality if you use it on quality/balanced mode if you have an nvidia graphics cards, FSR can be pretty decent too.

Really hoping in a few more years of technological advancement, everyone would be able enjoy this game in 4K Ultra. Some of the scenes are just unreal. Enjoy man!

  8. Head_Exchange_5329

The game doesn’t even come with settings called “2k ultra”.

On my screen 40 is where vrr part stops working.

Beautiful game. I run it at a locked 75 at 1080p. Tried it on my Steam Deck and it just didn’t run good enough to be enjoyable.

I’ve never heard anyone describe getting 40 fps in a positive way until now.

seems like some elitists can’t stomach the fact that there are people that are okay with enjoying higher visual quality on a story game where high fps won’t make a difference in the difficulty.

we get it you enjoy 120fps. now let OP enjoy his and get a grip.

  13. TheNiebuhr

Why dont you try 50fps? This gpu should do about that and without upscaling. Plus it’s better for vrr.

  14. Turns out, last gen GPUs don’t all of the sudden become worthless scrap, if game devs actually bother optimizing their games.

How many frames for 1080? Ideally I’d like to play for the first time 70 frames at 2k res, but I’m still doing 1080p gaming and don’t want to spoil my eyeballs

  16. PlayStation has some of the best games and thankfully Sony is bringing them to PC. Wish Microsoft would invest in some games like this to bring to PC.

  17. YezzurRN

That’s not 2k. Dlss is motion blur and you alll need help.

  18. *On an entirely unrelated note:*

Fun, albeit litte known fact, The official “2K” spec refers to `2048×1080`.

    [2K resolution – Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K_resolution)

So while in passing on the internet it is used to refer to QHD (2560×1440) or 1440p, the real “2K” is to FHD what 4K is to UHD. So *technically* **2K is 1080p**.

I am fortunate to be able to run this game in 4K max settings capped at 70fps.. it is by far my all time favorite (rdr2 just about tied)

These devs deserve a ton of credit for making an absolutely amazing and jam packed game that even beats zero dawn 🫡

    40fps?

    I’m so sorry.

Is there any way I can help?

I love how like every video about high resolution and how great it is only plays at like 1080p maximum, oftentimes at 720p or below with a truly trash bit rate and then everyone starts debating like those original paleontologist bros that started making up dinosaurs as if they are even remotely looking at the original and have any idea what they are talking about.
