Saw this while un-building my PC to send the MB to be checked, how fucked up am I??

Bend them back carefully and you’re good.

  2. Dragon_Clouds_

Use credit card it can maybe bend them back

  3. khayamyulmare

You can bend them back easily (but carefully) using a credit card or something else flat and thin

Id say this is best case scenario for bent pins, you’re lucky. This will be an easy fix.

    Bad news: bent pins

How to resolve bent pins: try your best to unbend them, either with a card of sorts, or with a screwdriver bit.

Good news: Even if they can’t be bent back and break off, they aren’t very necessary. Most, if not all CPUs of nowaday have multiple pins which do the same function in the case of bent pins, so if you break these off by accident, the CPU may continue working (I repeat, MAY, not will, as I cannot guarantee anything.).

Very carefully bend them back and youll be fine, dont sneeze.

You can bend them back easily, also, you can break them easily

It’s definitely not a permanent “you’re fucked” just yet, thread lightly.

Ps: one of those refillable pencils could prove useful here.

Jesus H Christ, I see way too many posts like this. Do yall just think computers and circuitry is some mystical thing that stops working if it’s not flawless? Maybe that’s true for the silicon wafers, but otherwise….its just metal pointy bits that stick into ports to carry electrical signals. Bend the stupid pins back, carefully. And please do a little research into circuitry and electronics, I promise you it’s not witchcraft and sorcery that takes decades to understand.

Take a sharp potato knife and bend them back in line.

Try bending them back carefully. And even if you fail the cpu should work mostly fine even without those two pins…

  11. You’re pretty lucky it’s just the corner ones so should be fairly easy to correct.

  12. chandlerbng5

Just straighten them up carefully and it’ll be ok

  13. Snarks_Domain

Very easy to fix. Grab a utility knife blade and very carefully bend them back. It won’t take much force.

  14. IsThatAzupra

I’ve dealt with half of the CPU pins bent. You’re good. Just use a credit card 💳 to line then up carefully and gently

  15. Years ago, one piece broke. Cpu worked well.

  16. Elitegamer9568

Not cooled just got warm, bend them back with a credit card or a razor blade very slowly.

  17. bobbarkee

Nope, just bend them back. I dropped one of my cpus before and bent over half of them. Straightened them all out with a couple hours of tedious effort, and that cpu still runs great to this day.

Right on the edge and not bent to far, that should be an easy fix, be careful, use a small needle or something similar to make them straight again, ull be fine.

I’ve fixed worse, use a blade along the row/column and slowly push until they are aligned. Sem say use a lead pencil if it’s possible

Ive ran an AMD Bulldozer chip with missing pins from trying to bend them back, ran this for years and then sold it without issues. Not recommended but it worked….

Use a credit card or something similar for a straight bend and run it through the gaps of the pins.,
