Light is too simple and boring, try to get some ambient lights.

better mouse, secondary monitor, bigger table

Definitely larger desk. 80% of the mousepad is wasted underneath the keyboard.

What are the specs and models of his current setup. If space permits a bigger desk really is a clinic thing though a nicer mouse could be really a solid upgrade of they are a big shooter person. I’d honestly upgrade the mouse or thedesk before any of the PC itself controls are more important than graphics and a big deal is just nice especially if they do work at their desk sometimes.

Bigger monitor, bigger keyboard, and bigger table.

I see your bf’s lock screen wallpaper is Evangelion, getting some purple or blue lights on the wall may surprise him.

If you get a monitor arm and some speakers that’ll fit under the monitor once the arm is on the desk, you’ll be married by next week. lol.

Make sure you measure EVERYTHING! That includes the space around the desk, from the edge of the desk to the walls, for example. That’ll save you two trips to the store.

Go to a store with ample cash, show them the pics, show them the measurements, you’re golden. They’ll know what to do.

If you can afford a monitor arm, some small speakers AND a new desk, you’ll reach that level of higher love Whitney Houston was singing about.

    Good luck.

A monitor arm perhaps? A trip to Ikea to get a cool desk maybe?
Love that you support his hobby ☺️☺️🌞

  9. As a lot of other commenters said, a bigger desk would be a great one, so the battlestation has more breathing room to further grow into the future. Maybe pair it with a new, larger mouse mat that takes advantage of the space and plays into the aesthetic a bit more than plain black (unless he prefers that over something colorful)

Monitor arm or some cheap Edifier speakers are a good start. Maybe a bigger desk down the road. I’ve gotten my wife little things like that for her birthday and holidays for a few years now and her setup is finally looking pretty great.

A monitor arm to get the screen to actual eye level and maybe a second arm (or a combo) for a second monitor.

I would focus on ambilight behind the monitor. Either Philips hue or Govee. (~$100)

Or speakers if that works in this space. I get the feeling it’s in a shared room. (~$70-$200)

Monitor arm is good for ergonomics. Cheapest is to buy one of those simple ones with one leg and one arm. A little bit better, but slightly more expensive might be to get one with gas-spring ($60-$100)

Or if you want to hit it big, a better chair. I don’t see what he has now, but if it’s some cheap thing from IKEA and if he ever sits there for more than 4-5 hours at a time, it might be worth an upgrade. Most clean looking but still good ergonomic gaming chair: Secret lab(~$600). Best chairs, every category: Herman Miller ($$$$)

    Good luck!
