Keyboard and mouse for FPS, strategy, base/world building, management, complicated simulators games.
Controllers for everything else 3rd person, hack and slash kind of games
Sherlockowiec
I hate consoles because I can’t pirate Ubisoft games.
ProfessionThin9928
I think so no-one use controller for fps or shooting game
CrystalSorceress
Controllers in FPS games usually have huge amounts of auto aim that in the old days would basically be considered an aim bot.
RentonZero
Controllers can take a while to get used to but learning to flick the stick with the inclusion of aim assist can get you decently accurate
CockroachRight4434
I use exclusively controllers. Is it ideal? Probably not. But I play on my couch staring at my 70” QLED TV so it’s not like I have any other option
RileyZenko
I actually enjoyed the few times I used a controller, although it was long ago with games I couldn’t comprehend using a mouse for.
MojoPlayer
Me playing on my pc with a controller because a don’t care about online fps games…
JgdPz_plojack
Major turn off by Ps+ requirement to access online multiplayer/co-op matchmaking, especially Destiny 2.
60% global playtime in 2023 are mostly older games and 2015-2020 live service games. Strong reason to keep Nvidia Pascal equivalent PC (4gb-8gb VRAM).
IrvineItchy
Then plug in a mouse and keyboard.. it’s supported
BinkyDragonlord
I play with a controller on PC because I just absolutely hate K&M. I don’t care if it’s more accurate, point and click doesn’t feel like gaming to me. Controller all day every day.
SweetFlexZ
Not only that, with a console, my 21:9 monitor is literally useless.
Chakramer
I hate playing against console players now cos the aim assist is actually insanely OP
No way to balance it cos giving aim assist to a mouse would be too broken
newaccountcauseoldon
What is that ui?
ohthedarside
I get 15 kills on average in titan fall im on controller no aim assist
Although ive always seemed naturally good at titanfall 2

While I do enjoy my pc more than my console, I do enjoy collecting physical copies of games. It’s pretty neat to get steelbooks of games I really enjoy. Feels good to know you own your copy.

If consoles (well PS5 and Xbox) didn’t need a monthly paid subscription to play online games that you fully purchased, they would be a nice thing to recommend for a lot of families.
Huecuva
Not only can I not aim for shit in FPS with a controller, I can barely manage to move around. I used to dislike using a controller on PC at all but lately I play a lot of other types of games with a controller. Jedi Survivor, currently.
gotn0brain
Controller/console player recently switched to pc. Love the mouse but I just can’t get use to WASD especially in a high stress situations. Tried holding the control for movement and was ok but its awkward to hold a controller with 1 hand. Sticking to my Elite 2 for now.
Pre-ordered the Hex Evo hoping it’ll help out and it meets the release date next month.
piotrek211
Nowadays it’s the respect to anyone competing on mnk vs controller
madtape6
The last console i owned was PS One, i could never go back to consoles. I tried PS4 for some time but i just can’t play with the controller anymore.
TroodenPencil46
I used to play prime cod warzone with mouse and keyboard on PS4 and I must say that even though you have no aim assist it still feels pretty good aiming with your mouse instead of the controller.
I think it is still better to play with a controller for call of duty since there is aim assist but everybody has different opinions. 😉
BigDisk
Friend of mine lent me their ps4 so I could play God of War back in the day and the 30 FPS legit gave me a headache.
GnrySgtRageman
Meanwhile me: *plays Final Fantasy*

My only problem with consoles is the limited framerates. You either play at full detail (low/medium for PCs) at 30fps or upscaled at 60 fps (sometimes 45). And also I am not gonna fire up my PC that’s basically a ~600W heater in summer just to play some games. Consoles are a life saver if you do not have AC.
iDoMyOwnResearchJK
Still getting used to mouse and keyboard on pc. My fingers get confused and lost during fps with all the different abilities keyed to different keys. I’m guessing it’s one of those immersion things where I’ll naturally start to „get it“ after maybe 100 hours of consistent gameplay. Still feels pretty sucky right now. Aiming is waaaay easier with a mouse though. Just point and click for a headshot lol.
Ready_Philosopher717
Until consoles get rid of their scam of a paid online service, I can’t ever see me considering consoles anymore. That and I like being able to use any controller I want, with emulators from any system I want.. consoles have become redundant to me at this point.
Since I started working I just play my PC at the TV with my controller.. I can’t really find myself comfortably playing games at a desk when I’ve been doing that all day at work to begin with (though aiming with a controller is ass)
Amazing-Plankton5256
Honestly for me, it was the piracy that kept me locked to pc.
Shughost7
Not true. As a new dad, my wife gifted me a PS5 slim and it’s more convenient now. My gaming PC is in our bedroom but I can barely use it bow compared to the console. They both have their place imo and a true warrior doesn’t only choose 1 weapon but is good at all weapons to be at an advantage depending on the environment.
NotTrvsh
Controller fps in my teens was my peak, closest I’ve come to peaking nowadays is playing on smaller monitors.
Belgrieve40
Playing 1000s of hours of Killzone 2 made good with controllers with no auto aim.
100s of hours on CoD or Battefild and still suck major ass with mouse and keyboard and yet I played CoD long before Killzone 2 even existed.
Ronyx2021
I have a wired Xbox controller on my rig. I use it for as many games as possible.
Psychadelico
I refuse to believe the commentors talking about console aim assist have played any modern FPS with a controller and simply forgot to plug in their mouses. Like, I mainly play on PC now after thousands of hours on console (OW, Apex, Fortnite, Battlefield, etc) and if anything, controller players are at a huge disadvantage
General_Riju
I hated using controllers in fps games during my teen years. Only for NES games I would approve.
seek-ye-first-kether
It’s called aim assist
ICE0124
Everyone who says console players cant aim hasn’t tried gyro controls yet. But it is also kinda console players fault because no one has bothered to actually try gyro so instead they just hate on it and then it never gets added.
donaldinoo
Cross play absolutely ruined Apex. Auto aim is fine if your playing against other people with computer assisted aim but not vs pc players. Fuck I loved that game…
Any-Transition-4114
Guys we can all hate controllers but trying to ignore the fact mnk is a big advantage is ridiculous and gives the hate no credible grounds.
