Hi

I purchased a PC from on hardware swap and the PC was shipped with the cooler still installed.

Unfortunately the cooler is bent as you can see in the photo. I’m in need of some advice as a novice how to remedy this.

I’m struggling to get the cooler off due to how it has bent, any advice appreciated!

I’m also assuming I’ll be in need of a new cooler once I get this one off?

Thanks

looks like the case is also bent where the GPU attaches

have you talked with the person you bought this from, hopefully they insured the shipping

  3. The whole case seems bent when I look at the slot bracket area…

Return it. It’s not your problem they do not know how to package stuff for shipping.

That looks to have been properly battered around. What was it shipped in and who with? Definitely contact seller.

  6. Get a Thermalright Peerless assassin or Spirt and call it a day.

Note that that one fan above the RAM is proven to make temps worse.

They didn’t package or insulate that well at all. I personally wouldn’t risk keeping it cause there can be more issues you can’t see from the damage

They didnt bother to put expanding foam? Return it smh

Note to anyone shipping PCs: learn how to pack a pc properly if you ABSOLUTELY MUST ship a pc. Use any form of protection (styrofoam, expanding foam, etc) to protect your pc.

This seller obviously didn’t take any precautions for the buyer and should assume any risks.

Take images of the inside and outside of the PC and the box that got shipped with. Call The shipping company and tell them the situation and then call the seller to see if there’s any insurance that was added to the shipping to get your full refund.

You contact the seller for a replacement. In no situation should you ever settle for a product broken on delivery. Unacceptable

  12. i dont know why he didint remove the cpu cooler and gpu when shipping

Just return it and let them deal with it. If you try and do anything they may not honor the return.

Return it immediately. Don’t even try to turn it on. Parts have been improperly secured and have been rattleing around. Anything could be wrong with it.

  15. Return it. Not worth finding out what is and isn’t working when you buy a complete PC. Small bends on the motherboard/GPU could cause issues months later.

Don’t touch anything and return it, this isn’t your problem

Thought this was a black and white pic at first

RMA, just return it. Someone did a bad job and it’s not your fault

considering this guy shipped a pc with a huge cooler and the gpu both in the case, send it back. this guy has no fucking clue

This is why I stopped delivering expensive items. I have seen things packaged very well and still look like they got run over by a truck multiple times. I have seen pallets smashed.

Did they even use foam padding on the inside?

If the cooler got that wrecked during shipping, i wouldn’t be suprised if the motherboard and CPU got cracked. The PCI slots look crocked aswell.

  23. High value orders are usally insured. If that’s the case here, the parcel service provider is going to cover the damage.

Return it, if they refuse go to your bank to charge back or see what buyer protection there is (if you used a credit card). Look at local laws for returns too. You received the item broken and of unacceptable quality from the get go – you should not be on the hook for the cost.
